It's been a long time since I updated, but I figured anyone who wants to should now know that I will be leaving Houston at the end of the summer to head up to Durham NC to attend a new grad school with an amazing advisor! its cold outside! why?

So I am officially moved in to my new place and let me tell you although the journey has not been fun, the arrival is quite sweet! Although I am back on the 3rd floor (why do I always end up on the 3rd floor?), I have beautifully vaulted ceilings, a gorgeous balcony, a w/d and a nice roommate who is NOT a grad student. im in conference and i am tired

i did field work for the first time this week end. it was cool. one of the profs in my dept is doing a project on sunflowers and he needed to get rid of the ones around his plots (and there are a lot of them!) so in we went with round up. it was in austin and it was around the mid 90s, but we had to wear long sleeves and pants so our legs and arms ( Read more... )
