Lemons

What do you do with them, other than make lemonade?
Seriously, I've got 7 lemons in the fridge, and I need to use them!

I like lemondrops.

It is sad that my first thought was liquor.

But the very best ever lemon food recipe is this one (I would eat it for every single meal if I could):

Lemon drops sounds delicious. I had one last year and I quite liked it, so perhaps I'll pick up the ingredients the next time I'm at the liquor store.

They're good for all sorts of things, but generally in small doses.

My best idea would be to go to allrecipes.com and search "lemon" under their ingredient option.

Marinades and stuff like that.. The good thing is they'll generally last a few weeks in the fridge, unless they're really ripe.

You could also try baking something that uses lemons..

Well, I normally make lemon bars, but it hasn't been long since I made the last batch, and more lemon bars will make us really fat...

This is a lie. Lemon bars have negative calories and will actually help you lose weight. *nods*

I'm going to a wine tasting next weekend, so I'll make lemon bars for that and make everyone else eat it!

The zest and juice of a lemon can be added to rice, along with shallot and/or garlic to make an amazingly delicious side dish.

Likewise, you can combine rotini pasta, fresh tomatoes, basil, toasted almonds, and Italian goat cheese with lemon juice and grated zest for an amazing pasta salad.

I have begun adding citrus zest to various soups as well, intrigued at the way the flavour combines with anything tomatoish.

So there's a few ideas, at least.

I was gonna suggest lemon bars but you already did that. What about some ceviche?

Hmm...I've never made ceviche, mostly because I don't like cilantro...I'll keep this in mind.

Oh man, ceviche is an awesome suggestion. Lemons also taste awesome in roasted vegetables. Some olive oil, lemon, salt, pepper, rosemary, and fresh oregano. Mmmm.
