I have no idea what prompted me to actually do this. Maybe because it had questions I was actually willing to answer. I'm still working on writing up some of that other stuff, but in the meantime:

"Sirius?"
A grunt from the sofa and a whiff of stale alcohol answered him, and Remus flicked his wand at the lights.
"Come on, Sirius. It's Halloween. This used to be your favourite time of the year."
"I hate it," Sirius mumbled into the cushions.
"Snape will be at the meeting tonight," Remus said, leaning over the back of the sofa. "I'll help you put acromantulas on his seat or spell ashwinders to jump out of the cabinets when he walks by."
"Just go away, Moony."
"If that's what you want." Remus straightened. "You know, you can think of it as the night James died, or you can think of it as the night Harry lived. It's up to you." Remus patted the rumpled mop of black hair and left.
At the doorway he paused, and smiled as he heard Sirius get up.
