yeah, i've had the nose piercing since back in january. everybody at smith has them (seriously like 75% of the student body) so its not extreme up there, but in DC its a little more hard-core. ah well.
And then there's Delaware campus, where probably half of us have some sort of non-lobe ear piercing. I'm starting to get a little worse than them... running on 4 ear piercings, 1 eyebrow ring, probably will have at least one or two more by the time you see me again.
jill, this is eva (from MA, and CTY long ago)...not sure if you remember me, but i still read your LJ. anyway, i have to say that i was seriously disturbed to read someone wonderful like you praising the HRC. a lot of people in the queer-rights movement have very serious and very legitimate concerns about their organizing, including me. i don't want to go into a long rant here, but email me (sabergrrl@yahoo.com) if you are interested in what i mean. -e
hi:) of course i remember you, and i still read your lj too, so we're even. now, to address your little tirade-- i did no 'praising' of the HRC, other to say that they put on a nice dinner and i enjoyed getting dressed up for it. my knowledge of the organization is pretty much nill, as i got invited to go to the dinner on behalf of my office the day before, and did as much research as i could on their website just for the purposes of being conversationally adept. so-- if you'd like to explain why its a shitty organization, go for it (rubystone27@hotmail.com), but please know that i don't necessarily support them-- i didnt even pay for the tickets to the dinner, my office did. and from what i could see, the people there were happy, and thats all i needed to see to approve. so, hit me with your opposition, we'll talk:)
