Kindle the Fire

I've had the Kindle a month now, and I'm still very pleased. I worried that, like most other techological things in my life, it would fade into the background and begin accumulating dust. Not so, as I have finished 4 books in that time frame. I'd probably have done more if I weren't back on the WoW bandwagon, preparing for the upcoming expansion ( Read more... )

I think that may have been the first time anyone has called Abercrombie humorous fantasy, because - well, if it is, its nit even dark humor, it's pitch black. Nothing like Discworld or Xanth. There may be occasional things that make you laugh, but it's definitely not the purpose of the book.

That's good to know, I suppose. Admittedly I haven't made it through half of the book, but the misery/buffoonery that surrounds the Inquisitor and the uncomfortable situations for some of the others still smack me as purposefully funny. Maybe I'm so inured to darkness and grim elements that I don't notice it anymore.
