My dance group is looking for a space within ~3 hours of Boston to hold its winter retreat / dance intensive. Does anyone have a recommendation

The Clara Barton Center may or may not be overkill. (You can rent less than the whole center, but not sure how much less.) The UU church I went to as a kid always used this for their summer retreats.
Possibly except for the staff requirement, Spontaneous Celebrations in JP, where the silks kids practice. Large Studio with stage and high ceilings upstairs, kitchen & dining downstairs. I don't know if that would qualify as a retreat being in a city neighborhood, or if you could get it for a full weekend, esp. if it's for this winter. And Hi!
I think you'd like Earthdance. They have a *beautiful* dance space, and a fine kitchen. I've never stayed over, and can't personally attest to their food, but I can put you in contact with a person or two who have, and from what I know of them -- I think you'd love it.
A rather smaller, and more remote and rustic, option would be Bear Rock Lodge (bottom of the page), at Camp Hi-Rock. The dining hall would double as the studio space, here, and I'd recommend checking it out personally before finalizing your decision -- I don't know whether the space would suit your needs.
