If a dative of disadvantage exists, I don't think I've come across it yet. And I dread it already. I hate how every noun and verb in Greek has, like, a gazillion forms. Who can remember all of that?
And Achilles is, indeed, a very pretty book. I'm looking forward to rereading. I'm going to e-mail you the info on the time for the chat and the chat client, etc. Hope you can make it. :)
Also, yay for reading the Iliad. Is there a particular dialect you're studying or just general Classical Greek?
Yeah, I think I might've just made that up. Although if I'm right I swear I will start dancing then and there. Once my professor called an accusative an accusative of swearing, as in swearing an oath. Oh, I know and it's for, like, every freakin' word not just verbs. So tedious.
As of now I believe I shall be able to attend. ;)
I'm not personally concentrating on any dialect myself but in class we have done Attic, Ionic and now we're working on Homeric. I think we may do Aeolic, which apparently is the hardest dialect of Ancient Greek, next quarter since I asked if we could read Sappho. Although, if I was to concentrate on any one dialect it would be Homeric just because I love the poetic form and the Homeric writings interest me the most. However, I could do without seeing a particular word (and “word” just so happens to be said word) spelled ten million ways in just the dative plural.

Hah, I titled it that 'cuz the damn song has been stuck in my head for almost 3 weeks! Enthrall you, eh? Haha, nice word choice, very flattering! ;) And of course, I must agree that Evita is a very good musical or, I should say, rock-opera. Gotta love Andrew Lloyd-Weber.
Well, I shall. Though I must admit I'm not much of a myspace person, doesn't have the anonymity that lj does. Then again if you are who you say then I suppose you'd want people to know. ;)
