I was walking Tika down the street at about midnight last night and didn't realize a storm had rolled in until HELLO LIGHTNING BOLT. It hit a telephone pole about fifty yards away from where I was standing, absolutely no warning what-so-ever, and all the streetlamps went out briefly before flickering back on one by one. Woah.

I've been in some bizarre lightning storms here, but nothing that would MELT the contents of a shed!!! Lightning fires are dangerous because they are quick with no warning, and the gas just added to that issue. Glad that you're ok and hopefully Tika didn't have a heart attack.

The weird thing is the outside of the shed is completely untouched. It's the inside that's fried--melted a whole bunch of plastic and metal chairs. There's also a big jagged scar down the tree, so you can see the path the lightning took. My neighbor was actually thrown out of his bed when the bolt hit.

Me and Tika both leapt about a foot into the air, but the one who REALLY hates storms is Lily. Fortunately she was home when it happened.
