Until very recently, I always presumed "flood" to refer only to a traumatic event involving exponentially rising water, resulting in the loss of many lives and - when occurring on boats - very moving renditions of "Nearer My God To Thee."

I now realize "flood," in this context at least, relates to a water-free event, the only result of which is rather disturbing shape-shifting.

Yeah... it's like no flood I've ever seen either.

Anyway, you're not the only one here who isn't a Warden. There's quite a few, and from what I've heard they're all shape-shifting too.
