Notes: Follows this. Tenth Cherry, whee!

He gets up to turn on the light as sounds seep in around the closed door-the giggly, conspiratorial sounds only little girls can make. Curiosity gets the better of him, so he opens the door just wide enough to see his sister and a school friend walking by, arms piled with pillows and dolls. They chatter away about subjects that do not interest him, but he envies them in spite of it.

It is only then that he realizes that there are more important things than being right. He can cling to his superiority as hard as he wants, but as long as he does, he will not join his sister at school, and he will miss out on finding what she has.

He shuts the door and goes back to his book, resolving that he will go next year, no matter how many times he has to bite his tongue and just do what he is told.
