I dislike Pumpkin Pie too. Which is why it greatly annoys me that Portkey uses it exclusively. I NEVER refer to it as anything but Harmony.

That's one of the reasons why I've withdrawn from Portkey, not to turn this into an anti-PK post or anything. They gave me my "official" start in HP fandom, and I'm definitely grateful for that. But there's no place like home in fandom like AMW, and now, the Harmony forums. :)

Yeah, I only go over to PK to read fanfic or to read the essays. I was never really a big poster there anyway. They gave me my official start in shipping fandom. But there's no place for snark there. :(

I don't mind the term. I see it as a nickname and nothing more. I see Harmony as the true ship name.

Good that you see it as just a nickname, but unfortunately the rest of the fandom doesn't, and it continues to squee over fictional pie. :/

I was always under the impression that Harmony was the ship name mostly used in fandom... Apparently not. Pumpkin Pie? What the hell? Surely we can do better than another ship named after food (and the very food given to Harry on several occasions by a lot of others). But then we did worse.. named it after a fanfic. Don't get me wrong, I like fanfic and write it myself, but a FANFIC??!! Smart move there. Just like you said, it makes us look like fanon shippers when the ship is the richest canon ship out there. Gah. That disgusts me. Especially that you say the rest of the fandom is under the pumpkin curse. Must eliminate pumpkin pie.

That, and the fact that I've never seen a pumpkin pie in my life and would hate it seeing as I find the taste of pumpkin revolting.

And another thing - Pumpkineers/Pumpkinites. Talk about major cheesiness. No way I'm being called one of those. Makes us sound like we're a group of irritating little kids going on a scouting adventure...

I loathe the entire pumpkin thing as well. It's childish, embarassing, and, as you already so aptly stated, completely unsuitable for the H/Hr relationship.

I do think that HMS Possessed is pretty darned catchy for a ship name. But if Harry's possessed by Voldie, and so is Ginny, and anything happened between them, wouldn't that be like a Voldie wank? Eeeeew.
