I took Lucy to the vet this morning. I think she actually liked her time there. She normally hides or sits on my feet, but this time she looked around, realized there were no children present and hey, this floor is nice and cool and why not just lay down and relax. There was a huge pool of slobber when she got up, so I'm assuming she enjoyed ( Read more... )

Oh Lucy. She obviously just wants attention. (I kid, of course.)

When I worked at the kennel, the owner's Goldens all wound up with a thyroid issue and from what I remember, it was relatively easy to control. I think she just gave them a daily pill and that was about it. My brother's old Rotty also had this and he gave her the pill everyday and she was great; she lost weight, wasn't lethargic, ate normally, etc.

The quick research I did last night said if often shows up in goldens at this age. Of course! It would also explain her crazy shedding, so if we could get rid of that everyone would be happy. I'm so glad to hear it's a pill. That's the one thing I couldn't figure out. I was really hoping it wasn't a shot every day!

I *think* it's a pill. At least, I remember it being a pill. I'll ask the lil bro to make sure. I don't want to say it is and then you wind up having to shoot her in the ass every morning. :)
