I'm having a Mickey Mouse themed birthday party for the girls. Last night we looked through a catalog to decide if it should be Mickey based, or Minnie based. I think they decided on Minnie, although there was much back and forthing ( Read more... )

What is funny is that I've been trolling Etsy for Minnie Mouse personalized birthday shirts and party invitations, but not cake stuff! I do love the fondant mouse ears. Those are super cute! I'm not sure how much choice to give the girls, especially given their penchant for changing their minds frequently. But at least I have some less labor intensive options! Thank you!

I think you're good to go with the edible cake images--the girls won't really appreciate the difference between a Minnie/Mickey-shaped cake and having Minnie on their cake, at least not this year.

How close are you going to be to their birthdays in WDW? A lot of the hotels have little It's My Birthday buttons that you can put on their shirts and everyone (and I mean every.single.Disney.employee) who sees it will wish them a happy birthday. Or you can buy one at one of the stores on Main Street and again, get wished happy birthday allllllll day.

We'll be in the parks Feb 22-26, their birthday is March 3, so about a week out?

A friend told me to bring copies of their birth certificates in case anyone questions their age, since they are *so* close to three at that point (and having to pay to get in). I thought about doing some sort of birthday thing there, but wasn't sure if then Disney would care if it was a week before or not.

The birth certificates probably aren't a bad idea, but I've never had anyone ever question an age on a kid, whether it was at 3 or at 10.

And hahahaha, no, Disney will not care in the slightest that it's not their actual birthday. (The only reason they care for the actual day is when they rung the get-into-a-park-free-on-your-birthday deal, which I'm not sure they're doing at the moment.) They're all for celebrating whatever it is that you want to celebrate, as long as you're spending your money with them. :D

I didn't know if you wanted the girls to be in super-birthday mode for that long or not. We celebrate birthday weeks around here (it's really just one long month, as all three boys have birthdays within a couple of weeks of each other) but I have friends who are real sticklers about celebrating only on the actual date and nothing more.

My girls are obsessed with birthdays so this would be perfect for them! They know their birthday is in March, but I think they would be all for celebrating early! Thank you!
