Broccoli raab needs a bit of acid and a decent amount of salt, as you've discovered on your own. Once you cut the bitter it's absolutely sublime. I just usually eat it sauteed with olive oil and garlic, and a little salt and lemon juice. Mmmmm.
i admit, broccoli raabe is something I've *not* tried...and I've tried a lot of veggies! have you tried swiss chard? it's one of my faves, although probably not as cancer-preventative as broccoli, but still super-healthy. squashes are SUPER right now, if you're a squash fan...I love spagetti squash, butternut, acorn, pumpkin, etc...

While I've bought a LOT of chard, kale, and collard greens, I rarely ate any. PacMan was the main consumer of those in this house.
