It was. The cats who weren't glued to me were hiding under the bed, which luckily enough happens to be positioned right under the main roof beam. It's probably the strongest place in the house as far as things falling on the roof goes. There were a few times I was wondering if that would be enough, though! Especially after the one branch went through the eaves of the roof.
Adjuster came, asked a few questions, hopped up on the roof, and cut me a check today so I'd be able to pay for replacements & contractors & such. Yay for quick & efficient service!
It probably would have been more complicated if we weren't a declared disaster area - there's apparently special procedures for catastrophes, and I get the impression that things get streamlined way down in the process.
Pretty much all that is left to do at this point is get the roofer in - the two most dangerous trees are down, there is a tarp over the roof so no worries about rain, and I have a check in hand from insurance co.
You live in an area that gets snow and ice every year, so your infrastructure is built for it. Last time we had snow/ice around here before this February was three years ago.

It must have been so scary to hear all those limbs coming down! Glad to hear everything turned out so well.
