I'm glad you made it through with relatively little damage. We have the same problem with the IT people where I work. We've been told repeatedly that stuff works and is fine only to have it fail over and over again.

Oh, no. Ours don't tell us it's all working. We have to tell them it's NOT working, and then a few days (or weeks) later they'll actually get off their asses, get in a car and come look at it.

It took us over a year to get our security cameras working with the servers because they had it locked down so that the security camera guys couldn't get in (even though we have what is SUPPOSED to be an admin account, and gave them access). Why? Because they didn't bother to come out and work with the guys when they were here, even though it would have been far more efficient for them to both be here to collaborate. It's been almost a week since we reported the issue with the computer that got the ceiling tile dropped on it, and they haven't bothered to even say when they'll come to get it fixed. If it requires them to move out of their offices and come to the physical location where the computers they are supposed to be maintaining are, they don't want to do it.

CO is having surgery tomorrow. To the best of my knowledge, the part-timers for Branch have not been hired. Which means i get to try to do my job, plus what parts i can of hers, from Branch where i don't have access to a lot of the files i need to do the job. And where i will need to be spending at least part of the time backing up Coworker and Co-irker at the desk, just to add a litttle extra layer of complexity ( ... )

Glad your place was unscathed. I hope the computer situation gets resolved soon. It's super irritating when IT won't do their jobs.

They haven't improved in the last 5 years, i doubt they will. We're just stuck with them.
