Successful appointment yesterday and even one funny thing. They weighed me for the first time and the nurse literally gasped when she saw my weight! I just kind of laughed to myself. I am maybe 15 lbs over my goal weight and I feel pretty healthy, so no big deal in the States. Normal girls here are around 5'2" tall and have really small bone

Thanks! I have SO gotten used to being stared at and talked about (around me, when they think I, or we (if I am with a group), can't understand them. Just because of the way I look. It doesn't happen with everyone or every day, and most of them don't even realize their own reactions and how it might be rude, but I don't know, I have just gotten used to it I guess.
Sometimes it is nice to look and be so different (super-star with my students and sometimes with my non-English speaking co-workers when they get up the courage to talk to me - even though they know I can speak some Japanese, they are still intimidated...). Other times, I just want to blend in again, which happens fabulously when I hang out with my other gaikokujin (lit. foreign country person) friends.
But yeah, generally, I won't miss this kind of attention when we leave here. I will be glad to leave it at the gates of Tokyo Narita airport in 107 days.
