That is how I approach work. I show up everyday on time, do my job and I don't screw around. I can't work any harder than I do. Technically, I can, but I'd be exhausted and worthless by lunch ( Read more... )

Saldy Lokey is right, it seems that's how most places are. If the job doesn't kill you, the politics will. And I don't think Luck is what you make it, because I do everything possible good for myself and other people yet still end up getting screwed over.

I just grin and bear it until someone finally throws me a bone. You'll get yours eventually, just have to wade through a bunch of shit for it.

I think that is a common thing with temp services. My stepfather has been working temp for a couple of years now and I don't know how many times he has had the rug jerked out from under him. They tell him he will be hired and lead him on so he will work hard then right before the time comes to hire him they cut him loose. They do it because it is cheaper to use temps than hire somebody on full time. The insurance and all that. It is really shitty.

I hate to jump on the bandwagon, and I further hate to give you any credit, but these people are all correct: the employers have a cheaper time with temps. Weclome to the Murikan dream.
