Hm, I voted for the Fountainhead, but I'm really hesitant to suggest that anyone read this novel. Mostly in part because I feel like it brainwashes 90% of people who read it, but I do think, however, that any educated person SHOULD read it and understand why it's essentially propaganda and how it was important in terms of political ideologies.
i second jackie's suggestions of "cat's cradle" and "invisible sign of my own." in fact you can borrow both or either of them from me and alissa. also, "girl in a flammable skirt" (short stories) by bender
( ... )
I think Alissa gave me your gmail address but said you usually used hers anyway so that might have been why I didn't add you to the list separately. *ponders* Mail me at my gmail (RuzNuz just like everything else) and I'll add you so you can add bookies on your own thingy!
I <3 short stories. Especially old sci-fi shorts. I have several little collections if you're at all interested. Alissa has one of the ones I have I think but I can't remember if it's the 50 shorts or the 100 short shorts. I have tons though. It's my dad's fault. Only problem is I can't find one of my favorite stories about a scary sound sucking vaccume cleaner anymore. *sighs*
the fountainhead was my great aunt's favorite book. she went completely insane and died and i inherited her copy. one of the greatest books i've ever read. completely absorbing.
You probably should read The Fountainhead at some point.. but don't like it! Anyway, I voted Brothers Karamazov because I keep wanting to read it and never get around to it, so you should do it first. Failing that, On a Pale Horse. Does this mean you've finally gotten the Incarnation of Immortality?
Haha, I didn't vote for The Fountainhead cause I didn't even see it. I voted The Brothers Karamazov because it's like third to next on my list of books to read.
Also, there is an AMAZING sex scene in The Fountainhead. And it's beautifully written.
