Oh, it was pretty much all of us. Hmm...and come to think of it, soon after we saw The Miracle of Life, one of my classmates came out of the closet. Maybe the video push him over to the other side. Poor boy probably never wanted to see another vagina in his life. ^_^
There's one important thing that I think is forgotten by those promoting abstinence-based education: those teenagers/kids will be adults in a few years. As adults, they will probably have sex, sometimes before they're married, sometimes after they're married. Let's take the case of those who wait until they're married, since they're the "good" ones. Now that they're married adults, it's morally acceptable for them to screw like bunnies. But what if they don't want to become parents immediately, which is what happens when people screw like bunnies without using birth control? They're married, yet they know nothing about birth control or preventing/postponing pregnancy. This means there's a good chance that the abortion rate and/or the divorce rate will go up. Also, what if one has a disease that can be transmitted sexually (and they contracted it through sexual experimentation, or some other method - I had a friend in high school who contracted herpes (I think it was herpes) by sharing food/utensils with a friend who was

But the "good" ones obviously want to breed early and often, because all "good" people want to be parents, so they still shouldn't know about that nasty birth control stuff.
I agree completely. The best form of prevention and protection a parent can offer is a comprehensive education and a good understading of the way their own body works. Otherwise, they're just fucking blindly in the dark, hoping nothing bad happens.
Oh, my bad. ^_^ Either way...no fucking way am I ever doing that. ::shudders:: I don't even like peeing in a public restroom when someone could be listening. Shitting in front of a bunch of people while giving birth? Forget that!
Abstinence-only sex education programs have had "little impact" on Texas teenagers' behavior, according to an ongoing study funded by the Texas Department of Health and presented to state officials last week, the Dallas Morning News reports. Buzz Pruitt, professor of health and kinesiology at Texas A&M University, and colleagues examined five abstinence-only sex education programs at more than 24 schools across Texas. For the study, junior high and high school students filled out an anonymous 10-page questionnaire on their sexual behavior. The study found that 23% of ninth-grade girls reported having had sexual intercourse before they received abstinence education, a percentage below the national average. However, the study found that 28% of the same girls reported having had sexual intercourse after receiving abstinence education, a percentage that is "closer to that of their peers across the state," according to the Morning

Yep. I've read that. It's just friggin' amazing that they have the information that says it's not working, yet, they still go ahead with the programs that AREN'T WORKING! Yeah, that makes a lot of goddamn sense, doesn't it? It's...just amazing the capacity for stupidity and just plain downright hypocrisy that make people do shit like that. Christ.

I was freaked out when my niece told me details of her Abstinence class last year in junior high. It was taught by the school nurse and was pathetic. Some of the highlights

Good Lord Gouda! That is really fucked up. I keep on hearing about people being told that condoms and birth control pills don't work and it makes me sick everytime. When are people going to learn that the best prevention is education? Stupid friggin...grrrrr...good thing your niece seems like a smart kid, but I don't hold out much hope for the rest of the kids in her grades. Go to her graduation and count the number of pregnant bellies or toddlers in the student body. It'll probably make you sick to your stomach.

My god, I laughed my ass off when I read your niece's responce. That is so something that I would do.
I actually had a kick ass health teacher who, during sex education, had everyone write down a question that they wanted to ask. Although, when he had to explain what a blow job was to the rest of the class... lets say he was a little red in the face. And then the second health teacher I had was there showed us how to "swim" through the ovaries. Very scary.
But then again, I am a private school result, which means I have been brainwashed by the other "cool" students, to believe that Bush is the all knowing god, and that the government really knows what they are doing. I rebelled quite often here and am happily looking towards a LIBERAL arts college.

The only way they could have made that video even worse to watch would be if they had taken a picture of the mother shitting on the table afterwards.
That's because the mother shits on the table *during*...

Thought I'd add this to the discussion:
