A coworker prompted me to include this, because she found my acknowledgment of our difference in skin color to be "offensive," and followed up her statements with questioning whether or not I am a racist. i find it funny that some people find it offensive to be acknowledged for their skin color or race because these people are usually the ones who refer to me as the mexican guy with the goatie.
and then you get those whom think they cant be racist because theyre not white. how stupid is that? ok mini rant sorry.

You're right.
And in this case with my coworker, I assume that if I weren't white, we would never have had that confrontation. I wouldn't mind, but, aside from my family members who are racist, the most racist people I know aren't white.

Ugh! tell your co-worker to kiss your and my ass! I am sooo sick of racism where I live, and no for the most part it isn't white people being racist against black people, it's Black people not liking white people, and everyone uniting to hate the new influx of people from Mexico. People at my work constantly refer to people as BLACK and WHITE in casual conversation as a means to idenify why someone acts the way they do etc. and it drives me crazy! I finally confronted them and they stopped but geeez, when will people stop with this. You're right, skin color is just an adaptive trait.
