Well shit. The only other time I've had this strong of a reaction was to the chapter when Leslie's father passed away in Snapshots. This all cut right to my gut, goodness. I feel like one of the hardest parts of writing Leslie is balancing this side of her, the sadder and more serious side, with her usual bouncy optimism; it's so easy to just hit that off the mark. But this is perfect. This really just made my stomach sink in the right way. Leslie's own family and her feelings regarding family are rarely ever touched upon in the show, which is why things like this (and that Snapshots chapter) resonate with me, because these are things I've wanted to know about Leslie for so long now. I'm happy we have amazing fic writers to fill in the gaps :) And man, that last bit about Ann comforting her, so wonderful and cuts right to the core of their friendship. Love this so much. So happy this fic is back :)

I love how you explored Leslie and Ann's friendship and Ann's background--we get so little of that on the show, it's fascinating to see how other people imagine her back story.

Thanks! Ann has been in the back of my mind lately, and she kind of crept into this chapter more than I originally intended. I am really tempted to do a background fic on her someday.
