The outer layer is bluish-gray. Cadet blue, Crayola called it. It's the usual place we reside. A soft place. Not too bright, no sharp edges. Indistinguishable from normality because it is normal for us. Joy can reach us here though. A quiet kind of joy, but still

There is a fine balance to be aware of, isn't there? I used to think of balance as a destination, and the I started thinking of it as a dynamic process, like when I practice tree pose in yoga. There are always these attuned adjustments going on to make the pose sustainable. Some days are different than others.
