I know someone who will eventually read this is skilled in animation!

I'm trying to make .gif files. But I don't know where to start. Did google searches and all but I don't want to start paying and downloading (Especially where I'm at now) and risk... disappointment. Any assist will be greatly appreciated!

I've always just used Adobe Imageready, which you could probably just torrent (if possible).
