...requiring someone else to do something for you that you cannot. I suppose you could learn to do certain things yourself, but it's impossible for one man to do all things for himself, especially within society. We depend on the banks, on doctors, on police, etc.. We depend on things that exist abstractly like corporations, laws, reproduced images. If you were a nomad you would still be dependent on our ecosystem. I don't think dependency is defined by outcomes. Things you depend on people for may come from necessity or simply desires to maintain a way of life. Thus it is easy to create dependencies in one's life. The word "rely" is interesting. Dependency seems to insinuate a stable status quo; a certain routine, for life to carry on in a specific way... what do you think?

I think that we depend on other humans on a very basic scale beyond all of the practical relationships. Humans need humans, we need to be touched, to be spoken to, to be loved, to have friends, to be alone at all times would be a sure death.

So yeah we are pretty dependent creatures
