Chapter 15: Parting
“What?” Nino asked (almost shrieked) while the other two remained silent.
Ohno’s face was unreadable but Sho’s was shocked, confused and slightly disgusted. Seeing this, the hopeful glints disappeared from Aiba’s eyes and he lowered his head. He thought he’ll be…
“Ano… Not that I… doubting you… but… can you explain this? Since it’s a bit… unusual to men get pregnant…” Ohno said more cautiously than his boyfriend.
“You remember the pills I had to take?” Aiba asked.
Nino and Ohno nodded at the same time.
“You said those were vitamins because of the surgery…” Sho said frowning.
“Yeah, I thought that cause my father said that to me. And I had no reason to doubt his word. But apparently they weren’t…” Aiba said. “Years ago, around the time when my lung collapsed I was at the company for some reason and I overheard some researchers talking about father’s special project. That it’d make men able to get pregnant, and that he found someone who will test it… Actually I didn’t care about it at that time and soon forget about it… Then I somehow suddenly remembered today when I throw up again so I checked out my father’s files about this research… and it was there without doubt that he tested this medicine on me…”
“And you sure about it?” Nino asked.
Aiba nodded.
“Yeah, I’m sure…”
“Still, that would be better if a doctor would check on you…” Ohno reasoned.
Aiba looked at him and opened his mouth to answer but Sho interrupted him.
“Whose it is? The… baby…” he asked his voice somehow cold.
Aiba turned toward him shocked but said nothing at first.
Then a short knock was on the door and Toma entered.
“The ambulance is here if you want…” he started but as he looked at the small company he had a feeling that he interrupted something serious.
“Don’t care, go away!” Sho snapped at him confirming Toma’s suspicion.
“Sorry…” he said rolling his eyes and closed the door behind him.
“So? Whose it is? Matsumoto’s right?” Sho asked again misinterpreting Aiba’s silence that he don’t want to admit his connection to his now ex-husband.
“No! I… never! With him I never…” Aiba stuttered shaking his head furiously.
Now it was Sho’s turn to be surprised.
“You… you mean it’s…” he said and a huge grin started to spread on his face.
“Yeah…. It’s our baby, Sho…” Aiba blushed deeply.
“Hontou? It’s our baby? We’ll have a baby?” Sho said happily pulling the younger boy into a passionate kiss.
“I highly doubt they’re capable to raise a child on their own…” Nino said bratty and crossed his arms over his chest.
“Then they’re lucky that you’ll be there to help them out…” Ohno smiled at his boyfriend and hugged him.
“Guess I don’t have other choice…” Nino mumbled pouting into Ohno’s chest though he was smiling secretly…
In the end Aiba gave in so the others could take him to the hospital. The only reason why he let it happen in the end that Sho promised him if he agrees on the examinations, they’ll go home tomorrow. And hell he was passing such a chance to finally go home with them.
Though once they were in the hospital Aiba felt a bit uncomfortable and couldn’t shake off the feeling. He didn’t want his father to get to know about it but he knew he will. Even he made the doctor to promise she won’t tell anyone about his pregnancy, Aiba didn’t think it will remain secret for too long from his father. It was their hospital after all…
“Where are you going?”
Aiba dragged his suitcase to the door when his father’s voice stopped him.
“Anywhere but here” the boy said looking at him. “You can’t expect me that I want to stay under the same roof as you after what you did…”
“You’re going nowhere! As long as I’m your father you do as I tell you! And now I tell you to stay here and get ready for the company meeting” the older man ordered him.
“You stopped being my father when you used me as a guinea pig for your freak experiment!” Aiba shouted at him. “And I’m an adult already so you can’t forbid me to where to go or what to do!...”
“Don’t be such a baby! I made someone out of you this way. You should be grateful for me, you’re the part of the history thanks to me. And nevertheless as my heir, it’s your duty to do everything for our company…”
“You always say that ‘it’s my duty as your heir’ but who asked you to make me your heir? Find someone else to take it over from you and leave me alone cause I don’t give a fucking shit about what’s going on with your beloved company!” Aiba shouted tears brimming his eyes then grabbed his pack to run out
“Masaki! Come back here right now! I didn’t give you the permission to leave!” his father shouted after him but Aiba didn’t care about his tries to stop him…
“Why is he so late?” Sho asked frustrated and wanted to get out of the car to bring Aiba out of that mansion personally.
“Aniki! Chill, just be patient…” Nino turned to look at the older man who sat on the backseat.
“Kazu’s right. Ma-chan just probably says goodbye…” Ohno added smiling reassuring at Sho.
“Says goodbye?” Sho asked back skeptically and crossed his arms over his chest. “And to whom should he says his goodbye? To his father who tricked him, used him and lied to him for years? Or the maids? Don’t make me laugh, Ohno-kun…” Sho grumbled.
Ohno looked at his boyfriend for help but Nino just made a face and shrugged. That was meaningless to argue with Sho about this at this point.
Then before Sho could start to complain again about Aiba’s absence someone opened the trunk and dropped in something then shut it closed forcefully. The other three men in the car looked at each other but before any of them could move a muscle the car’s door opened and Aiba got in shutting the door loudly.
“Drive!” he barked at Nino.
The shorter guy raised an eyebrow and turned toward the boy questioning while Ohno and Sho eyed Aiba as well.
“Ehm… You’re okay, Ma-chan? Something happened?” Nino asked finally.
“Shut up! I said drive!” he snapped back at him.
‘Okay’ Nino mouthed rolling his eyes and started the car. Ohno patted his thigh calmingly. Nino glanced at him and smiled at him sweetly before turned his attention back to the road.
For a while Sho watched Aiba’s tear stained face as the boy sat next to him sulkily then the older man sighed and without a word he pulled him into his hug. Aiba didn’t resist and snuggled up to Sho’s chest seeking for comfort. Sho smiled faintly and caressed his hair lovingly. Aiba sneaked his arms around Sho’s waist then soon the older man’s touch and the car’s soft buzzing lulled him into sleep…
“Did he fall asleep?” Ohno asked after an hour or so of silent driving.
“Yeah…” Sho nodded and looked down at Aiba’s sleeping face smiling. The boy was just too adorable in his eyes.
“I wonder what was with him…” the oldest man said thoughtfully.
“No idea but don’t you dare interrogating him about it! Just leave him alone! He’ll tell it when he feels like it…” Sho said glaring at Ohno’s nape though he addressed this to both men at the front seats.
“Wow, look there! Someone’s a bit possessive, huh?” Nino mocked smirking.
“Oi, Ninomiya!”
“Okay, okay, I was just kidding!” Nino said quickly. Sho rarely called him by his family name but when he did that meant he was really close to snapping. “Geez, aniki, you’re being really sensitive recently when it comes to Ma-chan…” Nino said defensively.
“Kazu, don’t provoke Sho-kun. It’s completely understandable that he now wants to protect Ma-chan with all his might…” Ohno said looking at his boyfriend.
“Is it?” Nino asked glancing at the man next to him.
“Yeah… And I’d do the same if someone would’ve done the same to you as Ma-chan…” the older man nodded with a determined face.
“Aww… Oh-chan, you’re so sweet!...” Nino cooed and kissed Ohno’s cheek quickly.
“Oi, come on, guy, cut out the whole lovely-dovey act, would you?” Sho said complaining.
“You just say this because your boyfriend is sleeping and you can’t be lovely-dovey with him because of it” Nino said sticking out his tongue at Sho.
Ohno chuckled at this but Sho just pouted. He indeed wanted Aiba to be awake so they can cuddle and all but there was no way in hell that he’d admit it to Nino. So he pouted the rest of the trip till Aiba woke up hours later…
