Chapter 7: In which he falls…

Few hours later Sho parked his car in front of a fancy restaurant.
“It might take an hour or so…” Aiba told Sho requesting without actually saying it out loud to wait for him before he got out the car and walked in the restaurant.
Through the huge windows Sho watched as Aiba approached a woman at a table. Sudden anger raised in Sho’s heart as he saw her getting up and hugging Aiba and kissing his cheek as a greeting. Even though he knew she was Tsukimori Kyoko, Aiba’s co-actress in his new dorama that couldn’t make the feeling go away. His fingers constrained the wheel tighter and tighter with each passing minute till his knuckles turned white and they were so numb that he couldn’t even feel them anymore.
‘Why does he smiles at her like that? Why can he laugh so freely with her? Why does it have to be her and not…?’ he thought, anger and hatred about her bubbling unstoppable in his heart.
Just at that moment she reached her hand out putting it on top of Aiba’s while smiled at the young idol sweetly. Aiba didn’t flinch nor did any attempt to avoid the contact.
‘That shameless flirt!’ Sho fumed some more. ‘He’s just a kid yet and she’s older than him with… six years at least!’ he thought - not caring or being bothered with the fact that this age difference was true not just at her case…
Too caught up in his own foaming thoughts he didn’t notice when Aiba and the actress got up and left the restaurant. He only woke from his thoughts when heard the idol’s voice next to him.
“Can we leave finally? I still have a photo shoot and a promotion meeting this afternoon” Aiba said.
“Oh, hai!” Sho nodded quickly and turned the key in the ignition…

After the restaurant scene Sho couldn’t help but notice what slipped his attention so far. Namely that how Kyoko-san was all over Aiba during the shooting’s breaks. Always next to him, touching his arm, fixing his hair… flirting with him… And if that wasn’t enough Aiba was reacting to her in the most welcoming way that any man could react. Smiling and letting her clinging onto him and accepting all the invitations for lunch, dinner, a drink or whatever she found out. And it pissed Sho off. That everyday he had to spend his time on the set watching over how that woman tried to enmesh his idol it added more and more to the pressure in his guts till it was like a ticking time-bomb waiting only for the perfect moment to explode ruining probably everything and everyone around…
Frustrating sleepless night and more frustrating dreams after a month or so opened Sho’s eyes to the fact that he was not normal. His reaction to whatever it was between Aiba and Kyoko-san was not a normal, manager-like reaction. Sure, any manager would prefer if their clients wouldn’t date cause that was just a sure source of troubles and unwanted rumors from the paparazzi part and it was always a pain in the ass till they can clear up these rumors therefore everyone wanted to avoid it. Thanks to Tackey, this was something Sho learnt quickly after he was assigned to be Aiba’s manager so in this case he wasn’t any different from other managers. And Sho was sure that this relationship won’t be any different and going wrong with time - or at least that bothering little sound in his head whispered constantly that he wanted this to be like that. And that was because…
“Oh, my God, I’m so screwed…” he swore as the realization hit him and collapsing back into his bed covering his face with the pillow he wanted nothing else than disappearing from the back of the Earth in order to escape the scandal he was sure was coming…

In the end the ‘scandal’ started a month or so after the dorama’s shooting was over in the form of a simple - innocent - article:
Johnny’s idol Aiba Masaki dating actress Tsukimori Kyoko?Sho stared at the photo next to the article where Kyoko-san was clinging on Aiba’s arm - as always - as they left a restaurant. The manager gritted his teeth in anger then crumpled the magazine and threw it straight in the garbage without wasting time to read what non-senses they talk there or caring about the fact that the magazine belonged to Aiba.
Folding his arms over his chest Sho tapped his foot to the ground. He was in Aiba’s dressing room waiting for him to get back from wherever he was wondering off at the minute. They had to fix some parts of his schedule for the next week and it was immediate.
Suddenly a phone started to ring and turned out to be Aiba’s what he left on the couch under some cushions. Sho reached for it to answer the call and the annoyed expression returned to his face the moment he saw the caller’s ID.
“Aiba Masaki’s phone, manager Sakurai’s speaking…” he said after pressing the green button.
“Sakurai-san, konbanwa! Tsukimori desu. Anou… Can I talk with Mas… Aiba-san, please?” she asked innocently.
Sho felt like choking on his spit hearing she almost called Aiba by his first name. ‘That bitch! Are they really that close to call each other by their given names?’ he though, anger ready to burst out of him.
“I’m sorry, Tsukimori-san, but he’s not available at the moment. His schedule is really busy nowadays. Now if you excuse me…” Sho said with slightly gritted teeth and without waiting for her reply he hung up on her.
Just after he finished the call he realized his manner was hardly polite or anything. It angered and embarrassed him all over again.
“It’s all that bitch’s fault!” he groaned with Aiba’s phone still in his hand.
“What are you doing with my phone?”
Sho immediately turned toward Aiba. Any other day Sho would feel ashamed for getting caught - even if he wasn’t doing anything wrong, actually - but today his mind was too much clouded with jealousy to care.
“It was ringing so I answered it” he said almost smugly.
Something glinted in Aiba’s eyes at the unusual tone from his manager.
“And who the fuck gave you the permission to do so?” Aiba snapped at him stomping over to the older man snatching the mobile from his hand.
“I don’t need anyone’s permission I have every right to do so!” Sho shouted back at Aiba for the very first time loosing his patience with him. “Because I’m your manager but even more because I’m in love with you!” Sho yelled then fisting his hands in Aiba’s collar he yanked the younger man closer to himself, into a lips bruising kiss muffling the surprised sound that tried to escape the boy’s mouth. Sho’s only thought was how perfectly their lips fit as the younger’s opened up obediently letting Sho’s tongue in to explore the warm, wet cavern’s depth freely.
At first Aiba melted into Sho’s chest maybe because out of surprise or because the manager’s dominance simply rolled him down but then he suddenly woke from this strange stupor. Opening his eyes he roughly freed himself and without thinking properly he slapped Sho’s face hard.
A few heartbeats passed, both of them frozen in the moment: Aiba staring at Sho after dropping his hand next to his body and Sho staring back at him palming his burning cheek where Aiba’s bright red handprint burned into his skin…
Aiba was the first who came to his senses first and playing upon it he ran out without saying anything and leaving the door wide open. Yet Sho couldn’t find enough strength in him to move when the sounds of his running footsteps died in the hallway…

Aiba curled up in the corner at the top of the emergency staircase and pulled his knees to his chest as if he wanted to hide from the world. He dialed Nino’s number with shaking hands but ended up pressing the wrong buttons again and again. Yet that wasn’t just because his trembling fingers. No, that was because his mind was still numb and kept repeating only Sho’s words as a broken recorder:
‘Because I’m in love with you!...Because I’m in love with you…’
“I’m busy right now so say it quickly or I’ll hang up!” Nino barked in the phone when he finally answered it.
“Nino, it’s me…” Aiba said on a weak voice.
“Aiba-chan? What’s wrong?” Nino asked now worried since he wasn’t used to his friend talking on such a tone.
“He kissed me…” Aiba whispered afraid that someone else might hear him.
“Who?” Nino asked confused. “Sakurai?”
“…and confessed…” Aiba added ignoring Nino question.
For the longest time there was silence at the other end. Aiba thought he didn’t even hear Nino’s breathing and started to fear that his friend might hang up on him.
“Nino? Nino! Are you still there? Nino!” Aiba called his friend on a wavering voice, obviously at the edge of crying.
“I’m here, sorry, I dropped my phone…” Nino said. “So, what did you answer him?”
“Nothing”
“Then what did you do?” Nino asked on a slightly frustrated tone that he had to force out every little piece of information from Aiba like this. “Aiba-chan? What did you do?” he asked again when he friend didn’t answer.
“I slapped him and ran away” Aiba confessed lowering his head and gripped his phone a little tighter.
“You did WHAT?” Nino cried out. “Thank goodness! What did I fault in my previous life to be cursed with you as my best friend?” the skinny guy groaned.
“Gomen…” Aiba mumbled though Nino wasn’t actually talking to him.
“Whatever, now let’s see what can we do after this, okay?” Nino said knowing very well that Aiba’s simply incapable to take care of a situation like this by himself. Which means it’s him who had to do everything. “Okay, are you finished for today?”
“Un” Aiba nodded automatically though Nino couldn’t see it through the phone.
“Alright, then I’m on my way to pick you up. I guess you don’t want to go home with your manager after what happened…” he took Aiba’s silence as a ‘yes’ and continued. “Then just don’t go anywhere, I’ll be there in half an hour…” with this he hung up not bothered to ask where Aiba was exactly knowing pretty well all the hiding places where he used to escape when something was bothering him…

A/N: okay, so after such a long and unannounced hiatus was it good enough for a comeback? XD LOL! actually I loved to write this part, one of my favorites... jealous Sho-chan is the best. don't you think? XDDD
