Library Days

Well, I seem to have the library job. I got the call this morning from Mrs. G, who is damned tight-fisted when it comes to giving information out. I guess a million years of people asking where the Nora Roberts books are have taken their toll. I did manage to chip some info about the job from her and it's all (surprise, surprise) not nearly as ( Read more... )

Think of this as a stepping stone for your resume!

And perhaps you can find a one-day-a-week temp job?

My, my, they are lucky to have you! If you can stand it there for even six months, it will get you a decent job at a decent library--or perhaps the grant that you discussed earlier to get a ms in library science...

Congratulations. Mrs. G is a pain, but you've worked with worse, I think I recall!

Once I know what my schedule's going to be, I may be able to pick up a part-time job somewhere (there's a little book store a few towns down 65...wonder if they're hiring?). And yes, I've definitely worked with worse. Alas.

When do you start?

Are you paid weekly? (Part-time people should be, for heaven's sake...)

I started today! I worked a hellish 10-7 but I do have tomorrow off (although I have to work Saturday).

We get paid on the 15th and the 30th, which means I have to pull in my belt this month. But I don't have too many bills due until the end of the month, so I should be okay. And I don't have to worry about buying gas all the time now!

I'm actually thinking (foolishly, I know) about keeping cable. Do you think that's foolish? It's $21 but Discovery channel is having a show about GIANT SQUID next Saturday night! I'm thinking that kind of show might be worth $21 a month.
