You nailed this, hon. Your Arlo was perfect - pictured him 5 words into his intro. Ava too. And this was so perfectly John.

It's so awesome to see you here. I'm thinking about you all the time {{{hugs}}}

Thanks. I loved Arlo. I so wanted him to be a John Winchester type of guy that maybe Raylan just misunderstood. I was sure enough wrong about that! Writing him in so few words with him just dancing outside of John's peripheral was kind of fun. I'm glad I was able to make it work. This was supposed to be about John and Ava but there needed to be more than that.

I feel your positive thinky vibes. Thanks hon.

Arlo didn't seem to have a decent bone in his body. Helen was too good for him as was, I'm sure, Raylan's mom. The show doesn't run up here (unless I buy yet another specialty channel) so I buy the DVDs (love the extras anyway) and am anxiously awaiting the release of the 4th season. It's not coming fast enough.

It's so good to hear from you. Never an hour passes by without me thinking of you and your family. {{{hugs}}}

Thanks so much. I feel like Justified is my over indulgence, that and Magic City with Jeffrey Dean Morgan. After losing John though, I may need to revisit my indulgences. Still, it is good to know about the DVDS and honestly the extras would be worth it..

Arlo was just a bad man. I never know what Helen saw in him - or Raylan's mom. Which is why I think that maybe he wasn't as bad as we thought...why I had hopes for a John Winchester thing.

We never knew Raylan's mom but she had to be a pretty smart cookie and Helen? She was strong and solid and loved Arlo. What did they see in him? There has to be something redeeming. It makes me think I should write an Arlo fic - why I don't know. But he is a puzzle, like JDM was. *ponders*

I've never seen Justified but I like the setting and the characters even though I wasn't familiar with them. I like the brief glipses of Sam and Dean and thinking of Dean sneaking off to bars to hustle. I like this John too. Nice writing all around.

Thank you. Justified is a great show with amazing writing and even better acting. Jim Beaver has had a very large role to play in the past year or so...it is worth the time to watch it you get a chance.

In any case, I'm glad you gave it a chance. Not being a part of one fandom in a crossover can be difficult. I'm thrilled that you likje the bits of Sam and Dean we see her, through John's POV.

I'm glad you like John. I love him. That being said, he is an asshole at times! Still, in my head, everything he did (right or wrong) he did because he loved the boys.

*jumps off soapbox)

I don't know Justified at all, but I love what you did with John Winchester here.

Justified is lovely, but I'm glad you liked John. You know how I feel about the man. Stretching my wings with the intoabar thing was kind of fun.

With the shitfest that has been my life, it feels good to be able to write a bit. The act of putting pen to paper, or keyboard to paper is comforting somehow.

Thanks.

Great story. You have a real knack for capturing characters.
I loved the way that John could tell Arlo was the one to watch - absolutely right of course.
You don't need to bother responding to this. *Hugs*

Thank you. I'm glad the characters came through and that Arlo's true nature was "revealed" It was supposed to be about Ava and John but Arlo wormed his way in there. Thanks again for reading and commenting.

I'm a fan of both SPN and Justified, and I really enjoyed this! All the character voices feel spot-on, and the interactions work really well. Good on John for spotting Arlo for the dangerous man he is. *shudders* Really nice job here. Thank you for sharing! ^_^

How great that you know both fandoms and enjoyed! I have a feeling that John would notice the potential problem in any bar he walked into. Probably without even thinking much on it, just that casual recon that helped save his ass on more than one occasion.

Arlo was a pretty cool character. I so wanted him to be a misunderstood John Winchester for Raylan but Arlo turned out to be far more of a pisspoor father than John ever was. John wasn't perfect, but I think he was a good dad (although he made some really dumb choices)

Thanks so much for reading and taking the time to tell me you enjoyed.
