John's been gone a little over a week now... I am still struggling. We are still struggling, but I wanted to let everyone know who commented on my post that I read each and every comment. Oh, hon. I've been thinking about you this week. I don't have any words beyond that, I can't imagine what you and the girls must be going through.

Oh but I do have one very small practical tip for bailing out a flooded floor (once the worst of a deep flood is up, that is) - dustpan and brush, sweep the water into the pan and deposit in bucket, much faster and more efficient than trying to sop it up with towels. Such a stupid, frustrating thing for you to have to be dealing with on top of your grief, don't let those grumpy garbage guys get to you!

Remember to be kind to yourself. I hope you can take a decent amount of time off from work, to get your head together a bit. Just rest, accept all the kindness that comes your way (because YOU DESERVE IT), snuggle with the pups and your kids, and do whatever feels right. Chores will wait. And we are here any time you need to talk.

I'm sure your husband would be very proud of well you are doing. I'm so very sorry for your loss. I don't want to imagine what it must be like for you. Thank God for our children. Hug.

I've been thinking of you non-stop for the past week....all the "just so sorries" and "can't even imagines" can't possibly do you much good but I am. Just SO sorry. I remember the way you've written about your husband, and that kind of loss is unthinkable. Have been and will keep praying for you. (((hugs)))
