Shou’s POV
~~
After the others finish asking Saga yet another set of questions, they decide what direction we need to take.
But before packing the mirror away, I feel compelled to ask him a question of my own.
"How did you pick out THAT rock as the one you two sat on?"
Saga drops his head.
Which I find totally adorable.
The guy is in a mirror and he STILL gets embarrassed.
He finally peeks thru his bangs at me.
"You'll laugh. Tora did."
"Now you have to tell me," I'm already starting to laugh.
"I said it looked like a rabbit. The way it’s just lying there."
I wasn't the only one laughing.
Even Hiroto couldn't help but join in.
"See?" Saga's rolling his eyes "I knew you'd laugh."
Ruki tilts his head, squinting his eyes.
"Ya know, it kinda does. If you look at it just right."
Reita just ruffled his hair as the rest of us started laughing again.
We'd been riding for a while when I remembered another question.
I urge my horse up next to Aoi's.
"What made you guys think to check back there? I mean, there's got to be a million other places you could've checked first."
Aoi smiled at me. "Actually, it was pretty easy. We got the name of the village where he and Tora started their journey. We know for about how long they were traveling before they got into trouble."
"Then there was getting a general direction. We just found out where the sun was compared to the way they were walking." Nao added, dropping back to ride on my other side.
"He's not really that far away. By horseback, at least. We should reach a crossroad in a few days." Reita told me from his postion ahead of us. "We'll find out which way to take when we get there."
"But that doesn't really tell me why you chose that particular place."
"It's all about what he saw while on the road and what he sees from that window."
"You mean like mountains, a river and stuff like that?" Hiroto asks.
Nao nods at the smaller man, smiling. "Exactly. There shouldn't be that many places for us to check."
Things just seem to be getting better.
Except for those dream-visions.
That last image bothers me.
I haven't really told anyone what I saw.
Mainly because I can't describe it.
Not really.
That night my dreams are troubled.
But they're just dreams.
Nothing like the other ones.
I still write them down, tho.
Just in case.
As we start off, Reita hangs back.
Riding alongside me.
"Want to tell me about it?" he says quietly.
I look over at him in surprise.
"How did you know?"
He shrugs "Just basic observations. When you have a dream, you're more quiet in the morning."
I nod, realizing he's right. "This one wasn't like the others'. It didn't feel like it was happening."
"What did it feel like?"
I take a moment to collect my thoughts.
"It was more like a memory, I guess. Like something that happened a long time ago. Does that make any sense?"
"It's a dream. Of course it makes sense. What happened?"
"I was in a small cottage. I'm not sure how I knew that since I couldn't see anything. I could hear laughter, tho. And there was pain. I hurt like I've never hurt before."
I shake my head, trying to clear away that memory.
It was too real.
"I think it was Tora" I whisper, looking back at Reita.
"That's a pretty good guess. If he was transformed, he probably would’ve been in a lot of pain."
"So you think it was another vision, then?"
He smiled at me "Don't you? Isn't that why it bothers you so much? Because you think you witnessed what happened to Saga's friend. And that scares you."
He patted me on the back before spurring his horse to ride ahead, joining Aoi and Nao.
Leaving me alone with my thoughts.
I know one of the reasons last night's vision bothers me.
I can’t help but wonder what kind of pain Saga felt when he was put into the mirror.
Just because he didn't tell me about it doesn't mean he didn't feel any.
A part of me wants the person responsible to feel every ounce of pain that he inflicted on them.
And that scares me as well.
I never thought I was the kind of person to seek revenge.
But I wanted it now.
For everything both men have had to endure.
The next day finds us stopping by a small village.
I cautiously pull out the mirror, again handing it to Reita.
And none of us are really surprised when Saga says it looks familiar.
We’re all that sure of the direction Reita and Aoi are taking us in.
Nao and Hiroto rejoin us.
The were replenishing our supplies.
Hiroto looks a bit worried.
Nao goes straight to Reita.
Talking excitedly, even if it’s too quiet for me to hear exactly what’s being said.
Reita nods a few times.
Looking very serious as well.
“What happened?” I finally manage to ask Hiroto.
“There’s talk of a large manor house nearby. The guy we talked to said there’s a beautiful young man being held there. It could be Saga.”
Reita still has the mirror.
Looking back at him and Nao, I see that they’re talking to Saga.
I try to hide my disappointment.
I wanted to be the one to tell him.
We’re just getting ready to head out, when there’s a bright flash of light off to my right.
When I can finally lower my hand, I see a cloaked figure standing there.
He tosses back the hood.
Smiling, he walks up to Ruki.
“I wish I’d known you guys were going on a road trip. I’d’ve had an easier time finding you.”
“That’s Miyavi,” Hiroto says. “He’s like Ruki’s supervisor. Sort of.”

A/N: Well, it's been a while since I posted ANYTHING. So I'm posting 1 chapter of each ^^
And look who's back!
Which means...I'm about to split the group up *sigh*..and that also means I'll be writing 2 fairytales at once.
