[edit] This was kind of specifically vague. This does not neccesarily mean serving in the military, et. it could mean simply voting, or it could mean community service, or something entirely different.

and yeah, the voting thing is probably a good idea too. people should do that.

There should be a mandatory community service program for youth in the United States. But only for those who aren't able to pay their way out (we don't want to stray from American tradition).

I strongly dislike anything like forced military service or forced community service. As many know, I have done a lot of community service. So, it's not that I would have preferred not to, it's that I don't want the government to be removing freedom unnecessarily
