5x01: Reaction

Sep 12, 2009 18:52

And suddenly, it's been more than two months since I've last really paid attention to LJ... Mostly because of the baby, but there's also the fact that I got tired of Star Trek-stuff and dodging spoilers.
I hope all of you had a lovely summer, though. :)
But now...the Show!
Spoilers up to and including 5x01 )

episodic, season 5, reaction, supernatural

So, how are you doing? Been a busy two months, I suspect.

But why are they nutshelling only season 4? Certainly they can't think no one needs to know about oh, Mary, John, all that?

I didn't even pay any attention to that, but it's a good question. Maybe they thought that ever since the angels beamed down, the apocalypse became such a strong focal point that they drew the line there.

I like the new title card. You can never go wrong with pretty splatters of blood. And the whispering. And the pulse.

YES. \o/

But at least you're not Lying to Your Brother. Let's keep it that way, hmm?

*nods* And let's keep Sam and Dean still hunting together. Because bad things happen when they're not together.

The Box O' Silver Bullets!

I noticed that, too, and wondered what need the boys would have for silver bullets. :)

That's a nice bit of framing, Dean talking to Sam, the mirror reflecting only Sam.

\o/ \o/

And as comic reliefs go, methinks I'd stand her.As a comic relief, she was good. Maybe we could've done without her reading her ( ... )

Been a very busy and mostly well-going couple of months, yeah. You'd think a baby just couple of months old would be easy and all... granted, there's been the trouble of our eldest entering the school-scene, too. Other than that, everything's fine. :)

Because bad things happen when they're not together.
As evidenced by this ep, too. Sam goes, Dean gets his ass almost kicked.

Bobby's possession seems to have been a surprise to a number of fans. Because we've thought he, of all the people, would be so secured the demons wouldn't be able to even get a whiff of him...

Re: Castiel and the sigil
Maybe he's not an angel as defined by the sigil? Or it might be a case of hidden-unless-known, or some such?

Yay, it's so good hear that everything's basically okay. :) I hope the school problems get resolved soon, too.

Bobby's possession seems to have been a surprise to a number of fans.

Well, we've kind of had this image of Big, Bad Demon Expert. And now he went and got himself possessed. :P

Maybe he's not an angel as defined by the sigil?

Ooo, that's a good point. Maybe there's more to Cas than meets the eye. *scratches head*

Detail: For the heck of it, watch the blurry lights behind the boys. In S4, they featured quite a lot of reds and yellows but here? They're white, with a couple of oranges, pale greens thrown in...

Annnnnnnnnnd she's BAAAAACK! Hee.

"I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, 'wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them?' So now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe."

I like this quote. Where's it from?

That's a nice bit of framing, Dean talking to Sam, the mirror reflecting only Sam.

Yep, yep. Reinforces his aloneness.

And did you see the picture of the bridge in Bobby's hospital room?

Here's a question: how did Sam figure out who's wearing the darkling girl that quick?

I think it was YourLibrarian who hypothesized that Sam recognized Meg the same way that Dean recognized Alistair: based on just how twistedly intimate their relationships were.

Methinks it would be worth a ( ... )

I don't even know why those damn blurry lightspots are so intriguing. But they fit, considering the apparent suggestion that God whisked the Boys to safety. :)

That quote's from Babylon 5, more specifically their dashing hero-character, Marcus Cole. It was the first real television show crush I had, and this summer I've been mainlining it while knitting.

Bridge in Bobby's room? Must've missed it. Damn. And now I can't get rid of Bridge Over Troubled Water. :p

Sam recognized Meg the same way that Dean recognized Alistair
Ah, yes, that sounds plausible.

I'll have to see about really sitting down and writing again. Heck, thinking again something other than everyday stuff and crafty things.

Everything's fine, thank you. But you'd think couple of months old baby wouldn't get around that much by themselves... :p

Hey, you! I was wondering where you were! *smishes*

Is it just my lousy memory, or have some rules and regulations changed, allowed the show to feature language worse than before?

Dean said 'Eat me' in The Benders, Season 1. No change.

That's a nice bit of framing, Dean talking to Sam, the mirror reflecting only Sam.

I have meta! \o/

Her death was so unremarkable that Dean no longer remembers it the day after? Or does he think she's Extra Super Hard to kill?

He killed her with her own knife, maybe he figured she'd have a loophole built in so it couldn't be used on her?

Here's a question: how did Sam figure out who's wearing the darkling girl that quick?

Because he's a polite boy who remembers the name of girls who've been inside him? Silliness aside, I'm thinking since he's been driven by her, there's a bit of lingering resonance there.

Right here, just not that much on a computer lately. Save to mainline B5 while knitting. :p

Somehow my memory claimed that 'dick', 'ass' and all that was a tad more prevalent now than before. Oh, well.

Yay! Meta! :D

I think I'd like it people/things would stay dead. Methinks Dean would like that, too, but experience may have taught him otherwise. Talking of that knife, though... we've never gotten the lowdown on its origins, have we?

The lingering resonance sounds plausible, as does the 'intense relationship'-thing hearseeno mentioned. Maybe I should just take it at face value and be happy. :p

Hi there!

Nope, Star Trek's not my cup of tea, hasn't ever been, really. I just tend to forgot about that. In a nutshell, it's too 'clean' for me to enjoy.
