One big, giant, honking AMEN. I've been annoyed and mystified by the normalization of the pimp- how he's a common Halloween costume now (Pimp and ho themed dances and such), how Snoop Dogg is somehow everywhere and family-friendly, how guys who are successful with the ladies are "pimps", the movie Hustle and Flow telling people how hard it is out there for a pimp- and getting an Oscar for doing so. I fucking hate it.

A pimp is a parasite, a personification of humanity's worst impulses. No amount of amusing, flamboyant clothing can change that. I'm glad I'm not the only person who feels this way:)

I work with teenagers who use the word "pimp" positively all the time. And some of them are also kids who have engaged in sex work and yet ... they don't see the connection. And it KILLS ME because ... seriously. Pimping? It's not a fucking good thing.
