I have had nothing but wonderful success with Kiva.org. In 2006, I began loaning a small amount of money to one entrepreneur at a time, beginning with a single mom in Togo. Since then, I have focused on Uganda as it holds a special place in my heart.

I have my livejournal posts set so that only friends can read them. I was having issues with a semi-stalker a few years ago and decided this was simply easier. I still have sand in my naughty places and I was too lazy to wash the sunscreen smell out of my equally sandy clothes but nevertheless, summer classes begin in a couple hours. Arrival! Six hours after leaving Everett (includes brief stop at bathing suit store and gridlock in downtown Portland) we made it to our haven.
