So, the cats despise each other.

They are both pretty stressed and there is much hissing and fighting and sadness. Miscuit has stopped eating, if the boy cat has touched her bowl she just hisses at it, as though it is him. :(

Great.

It took our two a few weeks to settle down together. We made sure they each had spaces away from each other. For example Azrael loves boxes and places up high, whereas Gabrielle enjoys cupboards. Seperate food bowls and toys as well.

It did take time and it was a bit stressful at first but watching the two of them cuddle up together for lickings now, is too adorable.

It is stressful... Our baby girl is really upset :(
Here's to hoping they sort it out! Also, tea next saturday if you are up for it. Is early, I know but the only time I could fit anything in this week. xx

Patience is difficult when you are watching them try to destroy eachother. I think it's made worse because Sonic is massive compared to Miskit. I really hope they can find some level of peace. Also, yay for Pumba peeing!!

Yeh, Sonic the mega scratcher is three or so, so hopefully he can just chill a bit. Miskit is just not handling it. :( Its terrible to watch your baby so angry and upset. Maybe its because she hasn't ever really seen another cat, aside from her mother?

Sonic would be terrified. You need to keep him locked up a bit longer. It's not fair on Sonic or Miscuit otherwise. You can never rush these things. Like I said, Sonic took about a week to fit in here. It should be ok. You will just need to keep them sep. a bit longer so they can get used to each others smells etc. Don't panic :)

Sonic seems less fazed than Miscuit, which is good for him. They both seem to be settling down a bit this afternoon, which is also good. I am very good at the panic-ing!!

I am sure all will be well :) Aside from that though, did you know that he has really bad fleas and maybe some kind of dermatitis? Any idea when his last flea treatment was? xx

Fleas? Dermatitis? We have had some fleas at our house lately. He would have been treated a fortnight ago. But maybe could use another treat. I had no idea about the dermatitis though? Has he got scabs or flaky skin? If so, where?
I am glad they are better. You need to give it at least a week.Only let them be together when you are around, otherwise just keep em separate. It takes time. Sonic was quite stressed when we first got him so we had to keep him in the bathroom for something like 4 days. A while, but totally normal. During the 4 days we would pick him up and carry him around so he could see and smell the other cats but was still safe. He'd freak out but as long as he was with us he was fine... but then after a while he was all ok.
A flea or two would not surprise me, I am quite surprised about the dermatitis though. Can you describe it for me?
You do like Sonic though don't you? He's a lovely boy.

I think he is a great cat :)
The dermatitis is mostly on him belly. Its white, flaky and tender. I will take him to the vet about it when we take Miscuit next. He has a lot of fleas - and several areas on his neck and back where he as scratched them like crazy and has little sores. Poor thing. Maybe he brought them into your house but you didn't notice?
Other than that, he is eating fine, and being quite curious and friendly to us. The dragon is most pleased about having a cat that will sleep on her bed (aside from the flea bites!)

They need to have separate eating areas too so they can work out who owns what.
