I was quite hesistant on the kids school when they first went there-it wasn't a bright open place, and that worried me. When they actually were enrolled there, I stopped worrying. The curriculum is outstanding, the building and classrooms have all been remodeled due to them getting lots more funding, and the staff is great. The school is so little (around 75 from ages 18 months-3rd grade), so all the kids are closeknit, regardless of what grade they are in. In retrospect, it seems that as bright and cheery as their old school was, the staff always had drama, there were lots of kids in each class, and it just wasn't as structured as the new private school. I am glad I made the switch. I wish you luck with her academic situation!

I know the homeless guy was probably just being super friendly (plus I think he was definitely "on" something that afternoon)...but still, reaching into my car to touch my child...that was a NO NO. I mean, who knows...he may have some mental illness and I didn't want to tick him off and he'd go ballistic on me. Like the Virginia Tech guy. That's scary. It seems like like schools are not safe anymore these days.
