Quick update (Tyler's crawling around the living room):
-Thanksgiving was lovely--had lotsa grub, the turkey came out perfect...did the Martha Steward brine and followed Giada's Herbes de Provence and Citrus rub recipe
- Tyler stood up in his crib for the first time yesterday morning (11/25 at 4am)

Learning from his sister
Tyler is picking up things from Jolie, and she's just SUCH a wonderful big sister. [It makes me so proud =D ]
We use redirection, as I'm sure a lot of other parents do too. For example, if T is playing with something unsafe, I would give him another toy and say, "Instead of ______, why don't we play with _______" I've been hearing Jolie use ( Read more... ) -
Thanksgiving coming up!
AH! I just realized Thanksgiving is next Thursday. We are so NOT prepared to host Thanksgiving dinner...I haven't even come up w/ what to serve yet...other than the turkey of course.
I'm curious...what do other families eat on Thanksgiving?

Cooking Class
I've been inspired to cook more these days. I went to a Thai cooking class this past Sunday, taught by one of Jolie's classmates' mom. She owns a popular Thai restaurant in Sacramento and it's been voted as Sacramento's Best for many years in a row. She made it look all so simple. Lead Everywhere?
I dunno if y'all know this or not, but I (along w/ a family friend) just found out this yesterday. Her daugher, M, was playing w/ a box of Christmas lights and I vaguely remembered last year reading a lead warning on the box of our lights. Feeling Icky
Feeling nauseous...craving unhealthy food (I bought 2 bags of Kettle Chips and I don't even like chips that much!)...cramps...feeling YUCKY in general
I think it's PMS and I haven't had my period since before being pregnant w/ Tyler. It's been a long while since my monthly visitor. I was enjoying the absence but I think it's starting back again. -
Aqua Dot Recall
I was appalled when I heard why Aqua Dots were recalled! What the heck were they thinking?!?! The manufacturer replaced a glue component that mimics the effect of the Date Rape Drug (Rohypnol) if ingested. At least 2 children were hospitalized because of it.

What happened to my kids?!!?
Yup it's official...I now have a 10-month-old who thinks he's too old for naps...and a 5-year-old who's already a teenager. Recently, Jolie's been muttering under her breath and complaining about me being Ms Bossy. And Tyler's just been sick with (yet another) ear infection and wheezing/cold/cough and hates lying down for naps.

I won a free stroller! =D
I bought a new stroller last month since we'll be going to Vegas in December and we prefer an umbrella-type lightweight stroller for boarding the plane and traveling etc. I saw a decent one (Zooper) on Costco.com that was priced at just 99.99. It's very Maclaren-esque, but not at Maclaren price. Anyways, I went on Zooper.com to register with them ( Read more... ) -
Tyler's Doc Appointment and Jolie's Jog-a-Thon
Been busy all morning.
Tyler had his 9-month check up this morning...no shots thank goodness! However, I did ask for a flu vaccine since we now know that he can get really wheezy and miserable when he has a cold.
