Thanksgiving coming up!

AH! I just realized Thanksgiving is next Thursday. We are so NOT prepared to host Thanksgiving dinner...I haven't even come up w/ what to serve yet...other than the turkey of course.

I'm curious...what do other families eat on Thanksgiving?

Our usual (and it gets boring year after year): turkey [although last year we had prime rib instead], garlic

We usually have some kind of soup, like butternut squash, or mushroom. For sides, we sometimes have a wild rice pilaf, mashed yams, and maybe some other veggies. This year, we had a smoke turkey instead of the traditional in the oven one. Talking about this is making me hungry.

Ooh, the wild rice pilaf sounds good...maybe add some mushrooms to it. YUM-O! Alvin wants to fry a turkey (he's been talking about that for YEARS...we hear it's MUCH juicier) but I feel it's unsafe to do so in our backyard...fire and burn hazard

Hey! It took me long enough, but I finally realized you moved your journal.

I'm still working on the menu for this year's Thanksgiving but this is what I have planned so far, in case you're curious.
* Oven Roasted Turkey
* Sausage Apple Cranberry Stuffing
* Acorn Squash Stuffed with Couscous
* Corn Casserole
* Mashed Potatoes & Gravy
* Sweet Potato Pie

I can't wait, but it's going to be like two days worth of cooking. ;_;

Hi B! yeah, I moved this a long time ago but I see that you moved yours too! Are you still in SD or back to SF?

Where are you getting the recipes from? the sausage apple cranberry stuffing sounds YUMMY! Alvin's family LOVES stuffing and I've been always making this wild mushroom stuffing (which everyone loved!) but I wanna change it up a bit.
