I'm writing this letter to give you a sense of what I'm looking for in a Yuletide story. Many authors like to be given some idea of what their recipient might want to simplify the writing process. If you find you can't work from any of my suggestions, it's okay; I just wanted to make sure I gave them to you in case they turn out to be helpful. :)
Warning: There is some very frank sexual talk in this letter (in the Foo Fighters section).
In general, I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to pairings, if there's going to be one. Het, slash, femmeslash, threesomes, poly groupings, it's all good. I'm squicked by the extreme stuff; I like my bondage vanilla and flowery, and I'm not into bodily excretions that normally make their home in the sewer. Other squicks/gross outs: Crossdressing and overfeminization of men. Male pregnancy, vore, necrophilia.
Orgasmic secretions are great and much appreciated. I read some of everything - consensual, seduction, dub-con, and non-con unless otherwise noted.

I still have trouble accepting that he's gone. It's still such a huge shock. He was so full of life and spirit and there's still so much we don't know. Because of all this, if you are writing Foo Fighters fic for me, please do not write a story where Taylor is dead. Please pretend for me that he is still alive for one more Yuletide. 😢
Mostly I want Dave/Taylor here and am not incredibly picky. However, I would prefer this happen in the context of an open marriage for both guys rather than a cheating scenario, or AU it so they aren't married. Please leave out the recent scandal of Dave's love child.
DNW specifically for this fandom: Please do not compare Taylor to Kurt Cobain with the idea that Taylor is just Dave's replacement for Kurt. I've seen people say in YouTube comments that Taylor looks like Kurt and sings like Kurt - which is total bullshit. The only thing they have in common physically is blonde hair, and if you think their singing voices sound anything alike, you seriously need your ears flushed out.
A few story possibilities, in no particular order (numbered only for ease of listing):
1. Dave and Taylor are two of very few survivors after the world has ended. They're trying to find a way to survive and deal with the loss of their families. Their efforts to comfort each other definitely do not turn into sex. Oh wait, yeah they do. AU this if you need to (change the names of loved ones so the deaths aren't close to reality; I would like for them to have someone to grieve so there's hurt/comfort).
Please no zombie apocalypse. So over it.

Something set in the time period between "The Colour and the Shape" and "There is Nothing Left to Lose" (1999) when Dave had the house and home studio in Virginia and spent his days writing/recording songs, drinking, and hanging out with Taylor and Nate Mendel, having cookouts every night. It sounds like a good time. Would appreciate manhandley/rough sex as Dave and Taylor play and try to figure out who tops/how to turn each other on. Hair pulling, holding each other down, wrist pinning, play wrestling, but all consensual. Nate can "go to the store" a lot. (That's a joke, unless you find the idea useful.) 😃
3. Taylor and Dave are subject to a sex experiment where they're fed very effective aphrodisiacs and locked up in a room together. Ummmmm... although I don't believe it happened in real life, I'd totally go for a story about Dave seducing Frances Bean at 19 (that would have been her age at the time) in the back of a car and them going at it. (I'm going to hell for this one.) Would love a long buildup with lots of seductive foreplay where he has to get her really wound up before she reciprocates. Want to make my year? Taylor's there too!! And Frances had no idea they were involved! (So, big ol' threesome.)

My fondest request for this fandom would be to see what the Andersons' lives would be like if they were dealing with something totally unexpected from a show like this, such as... what if they were a demon hunting family, like on "Supernatural"? (If you do a crossover, what if they interacted with Henry Winchester and the Men of Letters?) What if they investigated haunted houses and dealt with killer ghosts? What if Betty was a vampire slayer? Can you imagine how Bud would feel if he had to not only deal with an overachieving older sister, but one who was a better hunter than him, or one who had saved the world? Jim's a demonologist? An exorcist? Kathy is psychic? There are so many possibilities. How would all of these possible situations be handled differently, it being the 1950s vs now?
I know, it's nuts, but I have these wonderful mental pictures of Betty and Jim with weapons and Betty delivering some colossal 1950s-style ass kickings.
(I think the only thing I wouldn't like here would be a zombie apocalypse or superhero AU.)
If this is something you simply can't wrap your head around, any story in the same basic vein as the following eps would be awesome.

5). Ep where Betty was going out for the lead in the college dance/musical play and was up against a blonde girl who claimed she never practiced but was still a phenomenal dancer. Where is this girl now? What is her life like? I thought she was really interesting.
6). There's an ep somewhere where a girl said something negative about Margaret and Betty said if she said anything else bad about her mother, she would slap her face. Woo! Go Betty! (Love Betty being a moral badass but also being a totally overdramatic teenage girl.)
The Andersons being the same loving, protective, quirky family as always would make me a happy camper. You can find several clips from this show on Youtube. The show can be watched on several streaming services and is also being broadcast on cable channel Antenna TV, in case you would like to watch a few episodes to get the gist of it.

What is it, in summary?: A YouTube channel dedicated to the life and activities of Messi the puma (cougar, mountain lion). Messi is a rescue animal born in a Russian zoo in 2015. Because he was born fairly sickly, the zoo sent him off to a petting zoo. (Yes, a cougar in a petting zoo!) This is where his human parents met him. Messi is a very special cougar. His nature is very gentle and sweet, unlike his wild brothers. This is part of the reason why he was able to go home with Sasha and Masha (they acknowledge that most cougars could not live the way Messi lives and warn that people should not try to make a pet out of your average cougar). The zoo was considering euthanizing Messi because he needed so much medical care. Sasha and Masha saved his life by adopting him.
Messi was born during the World Cup, so he and his siblings were named after famous soccer (football) players. He was named after Lionel Messi. One of his favorite games to play is chasing and batting a ball around, so he lives up to his name.
This sweet puma would never be able to live in the wild. Messi would die without regular medical check-ups and vitamin supplements. First, he was born with a cystic bladder condition that needs to be monitored. Second, his body doesn't seem to make vitamin D very well. When Messi was a baby, he suffered with rickets because of his vitamin D deficiency. Sasha and Masha take him to a veterinarian who can help monitor the cystitis and give him vitamins in his food. They found a dog trainer who also had experience training bobcats; this trainer helped Messi learn to walk so the damage done by the rickets would heal as much as possible. Messi also learned a few commands there. Today, he is a much healthier and happier adult cougar.
I know this request could be controversial for some people who are opposed to people keeping wild animals as pets, but I feel Messi is a special case. His human parents take such good care of him and do everything they can to make sure he is happy. You can tell how much they love him in every video. In this case, I feel that the way Messi lives represents the best way for him.

What do you love about it?: Messi is such a beautiful, cute, and smart animal that he's an absolute joy to watch. His channel regularly melts my heart.
What sort of things are you likely to request for it?: Messi's thought process as he goes on adventures. (Anthropomorphism)
Are there sections of canon (rather than the whole canon) that can be consumed by themselves to fulfil your requests, or that showcase particular characters and relationships?: Not really? I will discuss some of Messi's personality traits in my letter. I've been watching this channel for at least a few years now.

As you can read, I only have a basic request: that Messi has some sort of adventure and we see what he's thinking during this adventure. I would like it if we could see Sasha in the story, even if it's a short cameo. It's not necessary to include Gerda, although she has been characterized as calling Messi "Short Legs" since her legs are longer than his, and I think that's very funny, so it would be nice if she sees Messi and calls him by this nickname. Other than that, just gimme something ultra cute that will warm my heart. ❤
A few Messi personality traits and facts:
- He is bonded with his human daddy and loves him very much. Messi often greets him at the door when he comes home.
- Messi has some phobias/fears to deal with in life. A good example is he thinks he can't swim, so he avoids the pool and the lake. But sometimes, he seems to forget and jumps right in the pool, then freaks out and struggles in the water. I would personally love to see him overcome this.
- Messi is clever! To wash the top of his head, he will lick his bed or a blanket and then rub his head against the wet spot! So funny and smart!
- Messi's favorite foods are shrimp and sour cream. His regular diet consists mainly of cuts of meat; it takes on average $600 (in Russian money) a month to feed him!
- Messi is house broken! He uses the shower to go to the bathroom unless he asks to be let outside. Before he took to his training, he had to wear a diaper inside and in the car.
- When Messi enjoys the feeling of something, he will start nibbling on his arm. Such as, he really loves the sensation of being brushed. This video is a great example.

I will discuss some of Messi's personality traits in my letter. I've been watching this channel for at least a few years now.

As you can read, I only have a basic request: that Messi has some sort of adventure and we see what he's thinking during this adventure. I would like it if we could see Sasha in the story, even if it's a short cameo. It's not necessary to include Gerda, although she has been characterized as calling Messi "Short Legs" since her legs are longer than his, and I think that's very funny, so it would be nice if she sees Messi and calls him by this nickname. Other than that, just gimme something ultra cute that will warm my heart. ❤
A few Messi personality traits and facts:
- He is bonded with his human daddy and loves him very much. Messi often greets him at the door when he comes home.
- Messi has some phobias/fears to deal with in life. A good example is he thinks he can't swim, so he avoids the pool and the lake. But sometimes, he seems to forget and jumps right in the pool, then freaks out and struggles in the water. I would personally love to see him overcome this.
- Messi is clever! To wash the top of his head, he will lick his bed or a blanket and then rub his head against the wet spot! So funny and smart!
- Messi's favorite foods are shrimp and sour cream. His regular diet consists mainly of cuts of meat; it takes on average $600 (in Russian money) a month to feed him!
- Messi is house broken! He uses the shower to go to the bathroom unless he asks to be let outside. Before he took to his training, he had to wear a diaper inside and in the car.
- When Messi enjoys the feeling of something, he will start nibbling on his arm. Such as, he really loves the sensation of being brushed. This video is a great example.
