Sigh … the irony of this little post will only be apparent to a parent.  My mother, to be exact.

Sometime between tomorrow and the first of the new year, I will be meeting with a surgeon to be evaluated for surgery.  What kind of surgery, you ask, heart aflutter at possible medical dangers looming for your favorite sailor?

Been there, done that. Showed off very profound vocabulary. Medics keep telling each other "the thing the woman in that room said to me." "I've never had a woman call me that before, and with such feeling." And then got me to verify that I said it because it was such an amazing string of words that there has been disbelief that I would say such things.

It was right up there with steroid shots in my foot.

Hope you can sleep face down, spread eagle, because you will need to. Also, keep the funny pillow to sit on. You need it after, too.
