My sister is home this weekend from Colorado, so we had a bit of a party tonight at my parents' house. Emily made cupcakes and Leah made icing from scratch. Delicious. Before we dug in, many photos were taken. Here are Emily and her friend Meg taking pictures of the cupcakes.

Rather gray sort of day today. The texture of the undersides of the clouds was pretty interesting at lunchtime, though. Puffy in some spots, quilt-like in others, and if you look near the bottom of the picture, you'll see cloud waves near the tops of the mountains.

The first signs of spring are appearing in my front flower bed. Daffodils and tulips are beginning to poke up from the earth. I hope I can find some time soon to rip out the dead stuff from last year so they have a nicer looking place to grow.

Today's home improvement project: replacement of the broken fill valve in my toilet. It no longer leaks, and I can leave the water supply valve open all the time again. This is good.

I keep most of my knitting needles in this lovely needle roll that was sewn for me by my sister for Christmas a couple of years ago. It makes it really easy to find things, and it's pretty, too!
