This is the reflection in the glass ceiling above the lower section of the Dutch Hollow, which is a food-service establishment in the Reamer Campus Center at Union College. I ate there tonight and worked on homework.

The annual Trek for Health started yesterday. For the next eight weeks, I'll be wearing a pedometer and tracking my steps. Today I took a walk around the park up the hill from VCI. Approximately 2000 steps make one mile.

The forecast was for snow today, so when I noticed out my bathroom window that the sky was in fact a brilliant blue and the sun was shining cheerfully, I was pleased. My neighbor's roof always makes an interesting contrast with the sky.

After class today, walking through the Science and Engineering building, my eye was caught by the Latin titles on these bulletin boards. The right one, "Laeti Triumphantes" I assume was taken from the second line of Adeste Fideles (O Come, All Ye Faithful), which is translated to English as "Joyful and Triumphant." GIFT (Generations in Faith Together) is an intergenerational catechetical program that meets once each month. At GIFT this Sunday, our topic was prayer. We discussed prayer experiences, the Newman Fellowship had their Labrynth set up for us to use which was very nice, and we made prayer rocks. This is my prayer rock. This is the Science and Engineering building at Union College, where many of my classes have been. Soon, Union Graduate College will have it's own "campus" - I think it's one building, currently under construction - but I won't be going there. Today was the first class of my last course as a Masters student. Hooray!

Recently our choir practices have been after the Sunday evening Mass. Between Mass and practice, the director has been getting pizza for those of us who sang at Mass and are hanging around. We have been going to the new Pizza DaVinci at 15th and Hoosick. It's definitely better-than-average pizza, and they have a large variety. And it seems ( Read more... )
