I barely even have words to describe my feelings about Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Immediately after seeing it I tweeted: "Sherlock Holmes 2 was a hallucinatory film experience that I constantly couldn't believe was happening to me. Not sure if I recommend it?" Oh oh one more thing. Of all the people involved, I was the most disappointed in Hans Zimmer. Dude was really phoning it in. I don't think I heard a single chord or progression that wasn't recycled from the first movie. Come on, man! I have so much faith in you, generally!

when Holmes and Watson made eye contact just before Holmes and Moriarty went over, and Holmes let his eyes fall shut, and Watson's face just was the ABSOLUTE LACK OF CAPACITY FOR COMPREHENSION OR REACTION YES I FELT THE SAME WAY. And when Holmes was falling with Moriarty and he had the most relaxed and peaceful expression on his face, like he could not have been happier with how things ended, even though I knew they were going to bring him back somehow, I thought it was a really beautiful moment. Actually I was impressed with the entire Whoa Okay Holmes Is Dead Now deal, I loved the whole thing with the plaque in the church and the Baker St Irregulars and all the different types of people all mourning for him.

ALSO I CAN'T BELIEVE I DIDN'T MENTION HOLMES AND WATSON DANCING TOGETHER. I legit said out loud, "WHOA. That's not appropriate!" and then immediately started cracking up, like, oh my god, this is a movie and this is happening in it, this is just the icing on the cake of this absurd slash-fest, who even wrote this.
