America's Birthday was great. Phil and I woke up at 7, got on the road at 8, and arrived at the vacation house in Laconia around 9:30. Most of us were awake at that point. It rained a bit throughout, and we got completely soaked, but the show kicked major ass. The Powerslave stage was awesome with the giant Egyptian designs, Bruce Dickinson is the funniest man ever, and Steve Harris has the most awesome stage presence I have ever seen. Yeah, they fuckin played 2112. This year's show was even better than last year's. They played almost all the songs I wanted to hear: Red Barchetta (!), Dreamline, The Trees, Subdivisions (!!!), Natural Science, Spirit of Radio, and Passage to Bangkok. Today was my parents' anniversary, and we had a gift certificate from a friend to the Capital Grille in Burlington for $200. It was a real trip.
