You know when we said yesterday that we were not going to be surprised by the weather?? . . . . we were a little surprised. Did you enjoy the thunder? I got a picture of a flash of lightning. (Not the actual bolt but everything else lit up) You guys have quite a day to get through. Wish we could help!
I don't know if this will help but here in Chicago for the winter they advise you to keep a little 'kit' in your trunk in case you get stuck in the snow. They suggest a coffee can of rock salt and sand, a good jack and then other various common sense things like work gloves a flash light ect.
No one uses chains here much anymore and I was listening to this show on NPR called "car talk'. They were saying that they don't make that huge of a difference unless you are possibly on an incline. If that helps you at all....
I agree with atheenah... Chains don't really do any good here because as soon as it stops snowing, it will all melt. If you can get your car out (maybe you can find a neighbor with some salt? that would help... Cat litter helps too!) just drive carefully and slowly and you will be ok. They take care of the freeways really well, they treat them with salt (but they don't use salt in town, they use cinders). Good luck!
