Things take time. I know this. It's obvious knowledge and it's common sense. But why can't I keep it in my brain long enough to stick to something long enough to see results

Whatever it is you want to start making a habit off, write it on one post-it and stick it in an appropriate place. After a few weeks, you will either have started to develop a habit, or you will have realized that you are avoiding this sticky note like boils. If the former, good for you!. If the latter, reevaluate your goal and do over.
Most people that do not stick to their goals are not as lazy or scatterbrained as they make themselves believe. The problem is that they are picking the wrong goals for themselves. They are picking goals they THINK they SHOULD have, not ones they actually WANT or NEED to have. You probably just have to tweak your goals.
I'll have to try that. My biggest thing is making myself exercise. I know I need to, but it's so frustrating. >.> I need to teach myself to be more patient.
