You are life
Such brilliance, a nova
With a darkness at your core
The source of all beauty
Its power overwhelms me
And I am alive in the twilight
You are death
A sad, dying star
With a queer light that taints my world
Your gravity entombs me
You are inevitable
And I wither and decay as dawn approaches

In defeaning silence,
An enveloping darkness,
Beneath the water's surface;
I feel the pulse,
I feel the beating,
My body sings its tune.
I hear the chords,
Playing strangely
A resonance I do not know;
I break them up,
I sing along
Until we form one sound.

I bloom, vibrant and colorful
My petals reaching out, a morning stretch
My mouth open wide, devouring this sunlight
Even as I spew its color back at you
I bloom, delicate, elegant
Aching to be destroyed, to be stolen
Longing for your touch in the cool morning air
Hoping to die in this moment, never to wilt

It is not to fall
Floating through air, harmonic
But to sacrifice
