Part 1 Part 2 Happy Happy Three Day Trip - Part 3
The BGM was the only sound that filled the huge gymnasium. That and also the soft gasps from the four guys looking at their friend dangling at the end of a rope above their heads.
“This can’t…” Whispered Jun with his eyes wide opened.
“KAZUNARI!” Screamed Ohno before facing his friends, fear presents in all their eyes.
“We have to help him! We must do something!”
“Where…” Asked Aiba, lifting his head once again and noticing that Nino wasn’t there anymore.
“For God’s sake! What’s going on here?!” Groaned Jun. His heart beat so fast he thought he would come out from his chest.
A soft laugh resounded in the room, Jun, Aiba and Ohno turned their gaze towards Sho. They only could see his back, but the way his shoulders jerked meant that the laughs came from the rapper.
“Sho…chan?” Called Aiba in a soft whisper, unsure if he should disturb him or not.
Sho faced them, a large grin painted on his face, then after a few second he dropped his smile and walked towards them slowly, humming an old song in a creepy tone. The other three stepped back as he came closer.
“You’re the next one~” Sing-songed Sho, pointing at Jun and coming more and more close.
“That’s not funny! Stop that!” Jun shouted when he felt his back hit the wall.
“What do you prefer? Fire? Rope? Knife?” asked the rapper, putting his hands on both side of Jun’s face. He brought their faces closer, only a few inches away from the other. “Or…me?” Sho added while his fingers clenched around Jun’s neck.
“Sho, stop that! Stop that!” Begged Aiba behind him.
Ohno put a hand on Aiba’s arms and shook his head. “He’s not himself anymore…”
“You’re right!” Grinned Sho, before disappearing in a flash.
Jun felt on his knees, his fingers clenching at his throat and coughing as he tried to catch his breath. Aiba and Ohno ran towards the youngest and helped him to get back on his feet. Suddenly, a loud noise came from the corridor, as if someone knocked over a pile of chairs. The three idols ran into the corridor and saw Sho, a rope around his neck, and trying to stay alive. They could hear the sounds Sho was making as he struggled at the end of the rope. Aiba and Ohno were the first ones to reach him. Ohno hold him by his feet, lifting the rapper as high as he could and giving time to Aiba to undo the knot behind Sho’s head.
Once his feet touched the ground once again, Sho felt on his knees and choked for a few minutes, breathing loudly and with difficulty.
“Thanks…” He said softly, tears from the pain falling at the corner of his eyes.
“What happened?” Asked Aiba at his side, stroking Sho’s back in a soothing manner.
“I…don’t know.” He coughed again. “We were together in the gymnasium and everything went black. Then…I…the rope…and…” Sho gasped and trembled when the image of the rope around his neck came into his mind.
Aiba hugged him strongly and whispered some reassuring words. Maybe it was because he nearly lost him; nevertheless, Aiba broke their embrace and kissed Sho gently, one of his hands caressing the rapper’s cheek with his fingertips. At first, Sho was surprised by Aiba’s gesture, but it felt right and comforting. And he would have deepened the kiss only if he hadn’t felt something wet on his cheek. When they parted, Aiba was crying.
“What’s wrong?” This question was really unnecessary seeing the mess they were in.
“I asked you…I asked you for staying with me…Don’t let me alone. Never!” Cried Aiba, hugging Sho strongly.
“Aiba-chan…is it…the nightmare you talked about this morning?” Whispered Sho, stroking the taller one’s back.
Aiba only nodded, tears falling down his cheeks as he remembered his nightmare.
“How…does it…end?” Asked the newscaster, fearing the answer.
“…Bad…” Was the only word Aiba could pronounce.
“Where’s Jun?” Asked Ohno, suddenly.
The three idols looked in front of them, where Jun was supposed to be, but they only found silence and darkness. Ohno put his hands on Aiba’s shoulders and forced him to face him.
“If you’ve dreamed of it, where are Jun and Kazunari?” Asked the leader, with firm, yet calm tone.
Aiba shook his head in denial and looked at his feet. “I don’t know.” He said shamefully. “I only remember it when things happen…”
“Are you looking for me?” Came Jun’s voice from behind.
The men turned around and looked everywhere, until Sho lowed his gaze and stepped back, his mouth opened but making no sound. The other two watched the ground and acted just like the newscaster.
“What?” Asked Jun.
Or more precisely, Jun’s head…without his body. Jun’ head was on the ground, without his body and talking!
“Tha-That’s impossible!” Shouted Sho, totally panicked.
“And you’re right again.” Smiled Jun evilly. “But, the one behind you is a real one.”
Like puppets, the three men turned around and saw Jun lying on the ground, in the middle of a pool of blood. Near his head that was separated from his body, there was Jun’s Ipod with in the middle of the glowing screen the track 3 of 5 playing.
“JUN!” Shouted Aiba, his eyes wide opened in horror.
He was so stunned he didn’t feel two arms grabbing his own before he started to run with the two other men.
“We-We can’t leave him!” Shouted Aiba in his run.
“It’s too late! We can’t do anything!” Replied Sho, praying for his legs to run as fast as they could.
The three of them ran, and ran, and ran, until they hid in a small class room. Ohno closed the door behind even though they all knew it was useless. What was going on here? Why did this spirit kill them? Why them?! Ohno thought that maybe Nino wasn’t really dead, everything they have seen was an illusion, so maybe Nino wasn’t dead.
But… he had heard his scream in the deep darkness. And he had see Sho fighting for his life at the end of the rope. And…
“Jun!” Cried Aiba in Sho’s arms.
“Why him? He hadn’t done anything wrong!”
“Jun isn’t the only one who died!” Shouted Ohno angrily from the other corner of the room.
“Nino…Kazunari’s dead too! He was the first one and we didn’t do anything to help him!”
“Ridaa…” Started Sho, leaving Aiba and walking towards Ohno who trembled from fear and anger.
“There’s no ‘Ridaa’ anymore! Arashi doesn’t exist anymore! It was the five of us! THE FIVE OF US!” Cried Ohno in anger, tears falling down on his dirty cheeks.
“This is your fault! Why did you bring us in this stupid place?! THIS IS YOUR FAULT! YOU KILLED THEM!” Shouted the leader, jumping on Sho before he clenched his fingers hard around Sho’s neck.
“Oh-Oh…no.” Choked Sho, gripping Ohno’s hands.
“Ridaa stop!” Yelled Aiba, running towards them and holding Ohno’s from behind.
But Ohno was stronger, madness and pain made people stronger than they really were, and Nino’s death really hurt Ohno. Sho started to suffocate, his lungs were becoming empty, his eyes started to shed tears and the only things the rapper could notice were the tiny blank dots before his eyes and Aiba’s desperate voice begging for Ohno to stop.
The only thing that stopped Ohno was a voice.
“Satoshi!”
It wasn’t Aiba, and surely it wasn’t Sho’s.
“Satoshi!” Called the voice again from the corridor.
“Kazu?” Said Ohno, leaving Sho and walking towards the door.
Sho rolled on his side, coughing and breathing loudly. “Don’t!” He said between his coughs.
But Ohno didn’t hear him, or at least he didn’t bother to follow his advice. Nino was calling him, he was still alive and he was calling him!
“Ridaa, this is not the real Nino, please stay with us!” Cried Aiba, holding Ohno’s arm.
“If it was Sho you would already running.” Said Ohno calmly.
Aiba let him go, because the pain mixed to the hope in Ohno’s eyes told him to let go of Ohno. Aiba knew he would regret it, but Ohno’s was right: if it was Sho, he would go too.
“Why did you let him go?!” Shouted Sho angrily.
“If it wasn’t Nino but I…won’t you do the same?” Asked Aiba in a whisper, smiling sadly.
Sho didn’t answer.
“Tss, tss, tss!”
A young girl was staring at them, sitting crossed legs on the professor’s desk and shaking her head in denial.
“Who are you?” Asked Aiba, reaching Sho’s hand.
“She’s…the student I talked about.”
“I’m Maria. Nice to meet you.” Said the girl, jumping from the desk.
She remained silent, and just looked at them while smiling softly. When Aiba wanted to open his mouth, she lifted her hand, asking him to keep it quiet.
“Do you know the story of this school?”
Of course they didn’t know, and that’s why she took the time to speak with them before she resumed her game.
“We were five friends, lost in the forest. We found this school and one after another my friends died in strange circumstances. I’m the only one who left.”
“What do you want? Why don’t you run away?” Asked Aiba.
“I can’t. I was waiting for you. He promised me that if I help him to kill five people he would let me go. And now…you’re here.”
“Who is he?” Asked Sho, his hold tightening around Aiba’s hands and creeping towards the door slowly.
Maria just shrugged, her finger drawing tiny circles with the dust that covered the tables.
“I don’t know. He’s the master of the game.”
“’Game’? You think this is a game?!” Said Aiba, totally stunned by the girl’s words.
“That’s what he said. After a long time you don’t know what’s real from fake. Sometimes this school is clean and beautiful, and in a blink, everything’s broken, dirty and soiled. I don’t like this place.”
“Please…let us go.” Asked Sho, his fingers searching for the door knob.
“You can go out if you want. Of course, I’m talking about this room. You know that all the exits are sealed off.” She turned her face and looked at the bars on the windows.
The guys chose that moment to run away. Sho opened the door quickly and started to run, pulling Aiba behind him.
“Sho-chan!” Called Aiba, running as fast as he could.
“Hurry, Masaki. Hurry!” Replied the newscaster, holding Aiba’s hand as if his life hanged by a thread, which was the case actually.
They could hear screams resounding everywhere, and they even recognized the agonizing voices of Jun, Nino and…Ohno. Damn it! Ohno had felt too! The doors slammed closed behind their steps. The walls started to bleed while hands came out from the ground. One of them grabbed Aiba’s ankle, and the tall idol fell heavily on the ground, his chin hitting the dirty floor badly.
“Sho-chan!” Cried Aiba, hands covering him and holding him still on the ground.
Sho turned his face and saw the fear in Aiba’s eyes. He didn’t even think about him and ran towards Aiba, stepping on the hands that held the tall idol. As Sho was freeing Aiba, the young girl was at the other side of the dark and long corridor, walking slowly in their direction, a weird and scary black smoke following her. Sho hurried up, they needed to find an exit! He helped Aiba to stand up and they started to run again. But just like before, all the doors slammed closed around them; they had nowhere to hide.
The corridor seemed endless; always the same walls covered in blood, always the same desperate screams that came from hell, and always the same stupid doors that closed on their way. Unfortunately, a dead end put an end to their race. They were trapped!
Sho let go of Aiba, and touched the walls, his hands quickly covered in blood, in hope he would find a door or something.
“It can’t be! It can’t be!” Cursed Sho, his fists hitting the walls and splashing the blood.
“Sho-chan…look.” Gasped Aiba near him, a trembling finger pointing at something in front of him.
Sho turned his face to look the way Aiba was pointing at, and opened his eyes in horror, and loud gasp coming from his mouth.
“Ri...daa…”
A huge painting was hung on the wall and representing Ohno. The older man had an expression on pain and fear in his eyes. Eyes that slowly, started to shed tears of blood. There was a tiny inscription written at the bottom of the painting: the title, 2x5.
All their friends were killed one after another, and it was his fault. All he wanted was to spend a calm and restful moment with them. But he had only sent them to their death, and it their time would come soon.
Sho grabbed Aiba by the shoulders and pushed him against a wall. The taller man was crying; he knew it would be over soon. Sho didn’t fight his tears anymore.
“Sho-chan…” Cried Aiba slowly, while the dark smoke and Maria were getting closer.
“Listen, Masaki.” Started Sho, his hands cupping Aiba’s face. “I’m sorry. I’m really sorry.”
Aiba only nodded.
“I’ll protect you until I’m dead okay? Don’t worry, you’re not alone, I’m here.” Said Sho, his heart beating fast in his chest.
Aiba smiled sadly and put a hand on Sho’s face. “Promise me, we will be together. When this nightmare will be over, promise me we will stay together.”
“I promise.” Cried Sho.
Soon he felt something wrapping him. The smoke that came into his vision was really dark and smelt like the death. Sho felt his body pulled backward, at the same time he felt something grabbing his hand.
“You promised me you would stay with me!” Cried Aiba, holding his hand tightly.
Sho smiled sadly between his tears. “I’m sorry. I can’t keep this promise anymore. Maybe in another life…” He said softly before letting go of the trembling hand.
Soon everything went dark, he could feel his heart beating so hard in his chest; the last beats that proved him he was alive. The smoke entered through his mouth and his nose and soon the rapper started to feel the pain; it was difficult to breath.
“Sho-chan!”
The last words he heard before everything became dark.
End
“Sho-chan? Hey Sho-chan…wake up.” Called the sweet voice, while something tickled the tip of his nose.
Sho opened his eyes slowly and smiled when he saw the face of Aiba above him. Then he remembered what happened in the school and sit up suddenly.
“Are we still alive?” He asked Aiba, who laughed softly.
“I think…yeah.” Giggled the taller idol, pushing back one of the strands that covered Sho’s eyes.
Sho looked around him. They still were in front of the lake, the sun was bright in the sky and Nino, Jun and Ohno were getting ready to leave. They were alive. It was just a nightmare!
“When this nightmare will be over, promise me we will stay together” He recalled Aiba’s words, and suddenly, the rapper hold Aiba tightly, the latter gasping softly from the surprise.
“This isn’t another life, but let’s keeps our promise.” Said Sho, before he pressed his lips against Aiba’s.
The tall idol opened his eyes wide, but soon wrapped his arms around Sho’s neck, and tilted his head on the side, deepening their first kiss.
“Hey Sleeping Beauty! The kiss comes BEFORE you wake up!” Shouted Nino, already waiting near the car.
The both of them laughed softly into the kiss they broke a few seconds later. Aiba helped him to stand up, and they walked towards their friends while holding hands. Aiba didn’t understand what made Sho in this state, but he would never complain.
Once they reached the car Sho hugged the three other one by one, tightly. It felt so good to see them alive. This nightmare felt so real, no wonder Aiba was so scared in the morning.
“Are you alright?” Asked Jun, a bit surprised by Sho’s behavior.
“Let’s go!” Said Sho cheerfully.
Once he was in front of the wheel, Sho started to panic, just like Aiba whose eyes were focused on the keys. The rapper took a deep breath and turned the keys.
Both of them sighed from relief when the car started up, the three other watched them a bit worried.
“This place was really good.” Said Ohno, looking through the windows and glancing one last time at the lake.
“Yeah…but I don’t really like it though…” Replied Sho.
“’Happy Happy Three Days Trip’ Here we come!” Shouted Aiba playfully.
“Oh shut up!” Said Jun and Nino in unison.
As the car moved away, a young girl came out from the forest and watched the car with a sad look.
“The time hasn’t come yet…” She sighed. Then she turned her head and saw a new car stopping in front of the lake, and five people coming out from the car.
“Or maybe I was wrong..." She smiled evilly as she stepped inside the forest.
END.
