Isn’t it weird how you can get vivid impressions of touch and taste (and pain) in dreams, but can’t synthesize them when you’re awake?

I dreamt that the ground crumbled under me, but I found a much cooler subterranean world hiding underneath. I love it when I dream in metaphor.
